  1. Note that it has been tested with 2 Garmin Oregon before publishing and it went fine using the files created by the Wherigo Builder. Only after that test I've add the "desktop test" and sent to publishing, but had no another chance to test. I can try managing a test with the actual published file version but created by the Builder instead the website download...
  2. Which builder are you using? Wherigo Builder What is the anti-cheat pack? Stores device ID in variable, then test it. If=Desktop shows message and closes game.If not Desktop activate first zone and play game. What are the users' symptoms? They say it doesn't even start. I don't know if it activates the first zone, I guess it does, but it won't do anything else. How many zones do you have active at once? None. It's on the activation of the first zone and play. Can you post the GWZ file here? It's too big to attach. I'll upload it to my Dropbox account. Note that in that version the anti-cheat (Event on start cartridge) pack isn't comparing the variable with "Desktop" but with something else so that I could try it at home in the emulator. If you change that to "Desktop" it's exactly the same has it has been published... The .LUA file I've loaded has the published version. GWZ LUA Thanks for your help.
  3. Hi, I finally ended my first cartridge and published it. Unfortunately I had no change to try it with an Oregon before releasing and now Oregon users are complaining the cartridge isn't running on their devices. I tryed it in an Oregon before adding the "anti-cheat" pack and it worked well... I wonder if the problem is the "desktop test"... How to solve it? Discard the restriction?
  4. Hello, I was trying to upload a new cartridge and both the builder and the site uploader come out with error. The site returns the following error: Error Occurred Wrong Local header signature: 0x75716572 Do you have any ideia about what's going on? Edited: Erros overcome and cartridge published.
  6. Obrigado, então vou arregaçar mangas ao trabalho...
  7. Hi, thanks for the tip anyway. I'm using the Wherigo Builder and have droped this ideia for lack of implementation. Thanks anyway. Cheers If you are using Urwigo, can you use Set, put your variable in and then set it to a User Expression of "<variable_name> - <amount you want to decrement by>"? Eg Set [number_of_coins] = User Expression [number_of_coins - amount_of_coins]. Cheers.
Obrigado
  9. Hello, yes there are, well at least in Alentejo 60km is "logo ali", not like the big cities where 100 mts is a long walk... And if you want, you can also escrever em português neste sub-fórum. Alguma ajuda que precises é só dizer.
  10. Hello everyone, I'm almost finishing a Wherigo cartridge, but I'm stuck with a final detail that I can't figure out how to solve... I have a variable that represents the "coins in the pocket". It's used to buy stuff all along the game, but by the end I'd like to let the player choose how many coins to drop. For that I've set a new variable for storing the dropped coins, but can't get a way to decrement it from the original "coins in the pocket". The only option is "decrement variable by value", and I'd need something like "decrement variable by variable". Is there a way to do it? Doing it one by one can be quite impraticable because the "coins in the pocket" can change from 0 to about 70... Thanks in advance
  11. What I realizes is that not even the emulator makes the timer work with the proximity. About the Garmins not detecting it, it's the first time I'm reading about it... I'll have to change a few things if that's the case... Thanks for the reply.
  12. Unable to make it work... I've created extra areas in the zones I wanted to detect the presence of the player...
  13. I had a furious fight today with the Timers in my cartridge. I have several, but the only ones that work are the ones where I set the timer tick to detect if the player is inside the zone. The ones I set to detect if the player is in the proximity just don't, and assume the player isn't in the proximity... Is this a known issue? I wonder if I have to set a larger invisible area to simulate the proximity for the timer to properly work... Thanks
  14. In the cartridges I'm building (forever now, but one is almost finished) I use the full options (icons, sounds, whatever). The onClick I avoid, but my opinion is that if the Garmins can't play sounds and display icons, it's their users who are going to loose, not the PDA users...
  15. I didn't try that way... I guess. Let me do some tests and I'll come back with news. Thanks.
  16. Hello again. I have a few questions about this theme. To contextualize, I'm using Groundspeak's Wherigo Builder. 1- I tried to put several variables on the same message box and I wasn't able to. The idea was to manage several types of coins (gold, silver and copper) and show them to the player when he performs the "money pocket count". Because I wasn't able to, I abandoned the different types of coins and sticked to one. But I got that stuck in my mind and now, by the end of the game, I'd like to show the ammount of damage the player caused during the game, but again, I'm restricted to 1 variable per message box. Is there a way to include more than 1 variable per message box? 2- The only place where I can show variables is the message box? I tried in the item description and it didn't accept... Is there other "fields" where I can show the variables, and the commands are the same [[my text]] ..variableName.. [[my text]] ? 3- Besides ..variables.. .. Player.Name .. .. Player.CompletionCode .. what other "goodies" can I show to the player (and the command if there isn't a place where I can see it)? Thanks in advance.
  24. Everything looks nice, but I'd like not to me "intermissioned" every 4 minutes... It would be nice...
  25. It's ok. Yes, you were well informed, there are some areas with forbidden/restricted access during Summer in Portugal.
