  1. I too have a new Oregon 600. The pinned Forum message "List of verified hardware" indicates the Oregon supports Wherigo, and the Wherigo cache type shows up as a geocache type on my unit. However, I've not found where in the Oregon's file structure to place a cartridge, so have not gotten the cartridge to display. I'm therefore not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or the Oregon 600 really doesn't support Wherigo. I'm new to the whole Wherigo thing, so am going to try it out on my Droid phone in the interim...
  2. Metroguide and Metrogold are working great on my Vista HCx. I had Topo 2008 on there already, but now the topo maps seem to have gone away, and I can't find them in the map setup screen. Any ideas on that???
  3. It works exactly as Matt said, and was VERY easy for me. I picked up a copy of Metroguide v7 on ebay for $30 shipped, paid $6 for Metrogold, and the turn by turn function works great on my Vista HCx. It's almost as good as my Magellan Crossover, but of course the HCx doesn't announce upcoming street names, etc, like the Crossover, so is not quite as good as a dedicated car unit [but it's WAY better than the Crossover out of the car!]. I think the Metroguide maps [which include POIs, etc] overlay my Garmin Topo maps, but am not quite sure. What I DO know is that I can do a batch upload of caches to the HCx using the premium membership features at geocaching.com. So now I can get turn by turn directions to a cache from my home, or if I happen to see a cache coming along a route I'm on, I can select it, and get turn by turn right to the cache. It's cool, and exactly what I was wanting. Only downside is that the maps are a bit older than City Nav, but that's not a big deal to me. Upside is that it's cheaper than City Nav, and you don't have to mess with the all the unlock drama. Count me satisfied!
  4. I have a Magellan Crossover, which I like pretty well [for driving and light geocaching]. We have a Hawaiian trip coming up in a couple of months, and I'm not confident Magellan will release Hawaii maps for the Crossover in time for our trip. Therefore, I'm looking for an inexpensive unit I can take. All offers considered -- I don't need anything fancy, but it definitely needs to include our 50th state!
