  1. Where I cache, we have abundant quality. Most caches even hid by newbies are quality. I personally believe that matchstick container were meant to hold money. My FTF prize consists of a $20 bill with the stipulation that you have to replace it with half the value, or you make no trade. This had gone over quite well. It is named FTF Halflife by Kbrunog® The other thing I like to do it take about 10 or 12 gift cards, usually Tim Horton's and put a bunch of duds and other with varying amounts in the cache. The finder is allowed to take one card. This one is called FTF Roulette by Kbrunog® Most of my caches are puzzle caches so you have to jump through my hoops to get the $$. I personally hate swag, and think that if I put out a micro it should contain something, cache fits real good. Even with the crazy FTF prizes I extract way more pleasure per dollar spent than any other activity that I ever participated in.
  2. I have never tried to use a download map but I have run across the same problem. You may need to use Basecamp as it will recognize the card(well it does now, not when I bought the unit}. I never downloaded a map directly from Garmin but all the maps I use I install directly to the card using mapsource. Are you using Mapsource or Basecamp??
  3. Forgive me, I have cached my way since the beginning of time. Sometimes I give, sometimes I take, it is mine to know which and when! I took caching lessons from Merlin.
  4. Cachin' in Cache is great, especially if you are the Cache Police The Cache Police, they live inside of my head!
  5. Hey, now it works!!!! I thought I was doing something wrong due to my excessive and complete noviceness! Merci beaucoup on fixing the issue. I don't even know what a google group is, let alone join one!
  6. Hi, just a quick question. I need to know how to create a "not" statement with the Earwigo builder. I keep getting an error when I try to make a does not contain, instead of a contain. I know this is simple but the Wiki does not help me in creating expressions. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  7. All I had was a simple message screen with no button scripts that said welcome back. It would load on the oregon, you would see the screen, but then it would go back to the Wherigo menu after it asked again to resume the game. When I removed this simple script it now allows resumption of the saved cartridge on the Oregon. I do not advise putting any message on the "when a player resumes a cartridge event" as the Oregon does not resume properly. This was seen on every Oregon that used the cartridge 200,300,550 Kbrunog
  8. I have a funny thing with my first cartridge. If I save it with the Oregon, I can not resume the cartridge. It goes to the resume screen and plays the message that I put for, when the cartridge is resumed. However it goes from that screen directly out of the cartridge. However it does not do this with the Colorado. It resumes the game normally?? I am wondering if I should remove my "when a cartridge is resumed message" but it seems to work well for the Colorado?? Has anyone else seen this funny behavior?? Kbrunog
  9. I have built a small cartridge in builder, it works fine on the emulator, but when I put the file(.gwc )that the emulator uses on either of my GPSr's I get the title showing up in the Wherigo menu. When I select it it shows my distance to start but the title page is gone and when I select play it says "unable to open cartridge" I have tried saving as a colorado file and as pocket pc with the same result. Even if I use a very early incomplete backup I get the same thing. I thought I did this before on another cartridge and it worked fine. Any advice as to how to debugg this? Thanks,
  10. If you find your child feel free to post a note on the cache page. If you go hunting for the parents of your caches you may find the many users who have no finds or are inactive. I had to go through quite a few of my caches in order to actually find a live parent who was an active cacher.
  11. Hey puzzle hounds, I have created a puzzle cache that will help you get in touch with your actual "child"cache. The concept on this one can be enjoyed by all who geocache, as there is a cache out there that shares your name. I am listing this on the forum here as there likely will be a few cachers out there who will enjoy solving this one and discovering their very own "child" somewhere in the world. The puzzle cache is called What's your name?...Who's your daddy? http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...df-7f7ece2189cb Kbrunog
