  1. The POLICE cannot initiate a Trespassing Charge. Only the property owner or manager can file a trespassing complaint.
  2. That is a VERY good question! I beleive the PUT IN is a public fishing area and just might require a Vehicle Use Permit. I havn't been there in a while so I don't remember for sure. This could be a problem for some people. If this is the case the permit needed would be the 2007 permit, not 2008. The 2008 permit does not start until March. I had one but lost it I really prefered the days when that permit was a window sticker and not just a receipt. I seem to recall that the scheduled take out is a county (or city) park.
  3. The pullout that has been mentioned earlier is actually a bigger park than the put-in. There should be plenty of parking at both locations.
  4. We could probably find a couple of people amongst our group that could accompany you as armed guards I wish I could attend the scheduled event, but unfortuatly I'll be slaving away at work.
  5. One could easily argue that the event is free. Anyone can bring their own raft / kyak. Those that don't can reserve a spot in a raft for an appropriate donation. I am really looking forward to this trip. In fact, I am taking part of the day off on sunday to go since that is a normal work day for me. Before All4one brought this up I was looking at scheduling a trip that the City of Marysville parks department is sponsoring on the Stilliquamish River. Doing this with some of my Geofriends sounds like much more fun I only wish I could bring my wife along as she would love to do this kind of trip. Unfortunatly her health won't allow it right now.
  6. So he was cheap! You can get those at Shmucks for about $90
  7. WSGA Web Page And we have a doosy of a vote going on now! There are two caches tied for first place. We need more voters... come on over, vote for your favorite cache and perhaps nominate one for January
  8. http://www.tgdaily.com/content/view/34553/113/ Windsor (CA) - The son of a former sheriff's deputy will fight against a speeding ticket he received, after noticing his GPS log disputed the alleged speeding offense. What likely appeared to be a routine speeding citation at the time may actually create a new legal precedent in a small California city. 17-year-old Shaun Malone was pulled over for going 62 miles per hour in a 45 MPH zone, according to a ticket he received, but it just so happens his step-father, retired deputy Roger Rude, installed a GPS device that keeps a persistent log of the teen's speed. While the boy's step-father apparently does not dispute his son was speeding, he says that according to the GPS log, when the cop pulled him over he was not within the required distance of 100 feet to accurately clock him. By the time he was within that zone, Rude says Shaun had slowed down to the correct speed limit. "I'm not trying to get a guilty kid off. I've always had faith in our justice system. I would like to see the truth prevail and I would like Shaun to see that the system works," said the former deputy. According to the Associated Press, some 95% of all speeding cases never wind up in court. That's clearly because it ends up being a case of a motorist's word against a police officer from that county with a radar log. However, with the GPS log, there is actually conflicting evidence in support of the defendant. It could open up a new scenario for speeding cases across the country. The police officer who pulled Shaun over told AP that it was unlikely to be a substantial defense, though. He mentioned the accepted reality of a delay in GPS relay of speed. "Is it a couple-second delay? A 30-second delay? Because in that time people can speed up, slow down."
  9. I hope you don't mind if I continue to work on this the "Hard Way". I just wouldn't be fun to use my previous finds... I would have been able to claim a find on day 1.
  10. In Washington State, making multiple logs on events for Temp Caches is more than slightly frowned upon. I only know of one recuring event that does it and most people that attend that event won't do it. It is considered Cheating. The WSGA does not have an "Official" position on it.
  11. My guess is that he will more than likely create a Bookmark list. Groundspeak has said that posting GPX files of data obtained from Groundspeak violates the TOS. With a bookmark list, you can create your own GPX
  12. Chinook, Cayuse passes close for the winter THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Published: November 29th, 2007 02:55 PM YAKIMA — The Transportation Department has closed Chinook and Cayuse passes because of snow. Chinook, on Highway 410, and Cayuse, on Highway 123, near Mount Rainier are closed each winter and opened in the spring.
  13. If you buy 300 rounds of bulk ammo from Cabelas, they will throw in a free ammo can!
  14. If it had been a Magellen, he would have died before reaching his destination and the crew would have had to finish the journey for him!
  15. I don't know if this is the same closure or not but: http://www.metrokc.gov/kcdot/roads/cip/Pro...px?CIPID=200604 I hope there wasn't a cache under that bridge!
  16. You sound like you learned this the hard way?
  17. I'm not going to say that a "Dinner Slush Fund" is something that the WSGA couldn't do, in fact other than a bit of extra work for the treasurer, it would be fairly easy to setup. I just wonder if it is appropriate and if it fits within our charter. The WSGA is not an official sponsor of Cache Machines and has avoided being officially part of them for a number of reasons. While it's true that several WSGA officers (including me) have put on cache machines when Travis was on his haitis, we did so as individuals. This isn't the first time that someone got stuck for the Dinner bill after a cache machine. It happened after Wenatchee. It's just that that time it wasn't well known by everyone that it happened. Perhaps a better thing to do would be to collect in advance for dinner. It sure would make planning easier
  18. Ok I admit it.... I cheated. When I didn't know an answer I used Google I got 100% The 9mm vs .40 answer was .40 is better for self defense. The reason is that 9mm's tend to go right thru their target, the .40 tends to mushroom more.... and even it it didn't it leaves a bigger hole That being said.... I still carry a 9mm. I can afford to shoot it a lot more than a .40 Now to comment on something the OP said.... There are NO permits needed to carry a weapon in AZ, the OP's state unless that weapon is concealed. AZ is a Gold-Star OPEN CARRY state. That being said, it's still a good idea to have that CPL, just in case your shirt or coat should accidently cover the weapon.
  19. I took apart one of these six volt batteries several years ago. What I found inside was four batteries that were the same diameter as a D-Cell but were about double the height... the same as the 6-Volt cell.
  20. Somehow I'm rooting for the Bear to stay hidden
  21. The Travel Bug Aussie Pouch has gotten around the world, including a couple of years traveling around Europe, and seems to have gotten stuck shortly after returning home to the US. The cache is Chasing Lewis and Clark, The Final Episode. The bug was dropped this last March, and from what I can tell no one has visited this cache since.
