  1. brian - i'm interested in the 35mm cache note, please! ___________________________________ who's got the pig?
  2. down at the coast in south texas here where it's humid as heck - bought some ammo cans - are they going to get rusted in the sea air? they have a pretty good paint covering... ___________________________________ who's got the pig?
  3. i agree with brian and seneca...(edit... gee, with dusty and jolly too actually) i'm also hampered by very few local caches, so i try to do one a weekend with a picnic and friends... if i want to find something after work - i'll go for a benchmark. ___________________________________ who's got the pig?
  4. i'm not sure... i've seen some and haven't taken them either... i would guess, if they've only left one, leave it for the cache owner... now, some cache owners make cards for finders to take... usually " you found it" type deals OR cards that "advertise their cache" that they want you to drop off in other caches... ...so...er...complicated ___________________________________ who's got the pig?
  5. you can either log by editing your first visit to the site, or by just posting a note so it doesn't mess with your find stats... i did that to catch up with ones i'd done before the tag arrived... ___________________________________ who's got the pig?
  6. i would agree with snoogans here... it's all about the owners. and i have been bitten by a large ****ed off dog... ___________________________________ who's got the pig?
  7. hippy, leftie member of the media here... ___________________________________ who's got the pig?
  8. thanks all... as it turns out, i can't actually get the geotrinkets i wanted so am over trade anxiety. *whew* that was ugly for a while... ___________________________________ who's got the pig?
  9. thanks! i'll look him up... ___________________________________ who's got the pig?

  12. I saw some of the Ultra Micros pictured in the thread "Extinction of Code Word Micros" and I was totally disgusted. disgusted? that seems somewhat extreme... ___________________________________ who's got the pig?
  13. hmmmmm seems like there's lots of interest but no members only cache owners yet... ___________________________________ who's got the pig?
  14. your input please? ___________________________________ who's got the pig?
  15. ...funny... i've just really picked an odd item - there aren't that many turtles out there... in the wild or in the stores! ___________________________________ who's got the pig?
  16. another thought - i could sign up for membership, and make it a members only cache - think that will help? any people with members only caches who can testify to kinder trading? just there are so very few caches where i live... ___________________________________ who's got the pig?
  17. thanks for the sensible replies despite the great typo in the header... respected!!!!! argh. laughed out loud at the delete their log comment... that's hilarious... but... well... tempting... yeah - i was thinking of not putting all the turtles in an once... maybe ration 'em over time... i don't know... ugh... maybe i'm just headed for heartache here... and why should i care, anyway? i don't know... i guess i was just really moved by the turtles... ___________________________________ who's got the pig?
  18. hi wolf, yeah - i know how the cache works, but a lot of people on the boards don't, and some just don't want to read through all the conditions... so if i can find someone who is familiar with it, i have a better chance of getting 'em out to the spot! well - that's the way i'm figuring it - i could be wrong... thanks ___________________________________ who's got the pig?
  19. i'm winding up to placing my first... (yes i know i haven't found many - there aren't more than a handful in the town where i live) i was at a turtle hatchling release the other day, and want to do one to comemorate that. searched the web yesterday for 92 turtles to put in it. actually found some - museum quality, and they're the right species. two things. it's going to be expensive, for me anyway... so what would i want people to leave behind in trade? it's a turle release cache - so maybe no trade is necessary... i don't know... ___________________________________ who's got the pig? 20. Alpena, Michigan 45° 4' N 83° 26' W It's the 83° 26' W that works with my user name to get this... Can't find any caches nearby, but i could be wrong... After all - I live in Texas, I'm from South Africa... I need a little assistance. If you know how this cache works, and are interested in helping me get this, then shoot me a line, please. where's in a name? ___________________________________ who's got the pig? 22. had this on a work pc... or at least, as i recall it sounded similar. got new mouse, and that did the trick. when mouses go bad.... ___________________________________ who's got the pig?
  23. found one placed by the "state of texas" (not so surprising, i am in texas) on the way back from lunch. are state benchmarks listed anywhere? (found it because i spotted it while walking). ___________________________________ who's got the pig?
  24. one more thought... while i understand (kind of) wanting to go to one you'vee found already so you can actually find one... is that something you'd ordinarily do? if not, why do it now? the article will be odd... "team travel pig went back to cache x for a second time, as geocachers often do..." *WHAT?* if you want the security of knowing the cache is there, take someone else along (apart from the reporter) and let them find it. and if you don't find the cache, then that leads to all kinds of discussions - gps accuracy / cache plundering etc. we don't all work for the national enquirer, you know. "team travel pig couldn't find the cache - what a total loser - and what an utter waste of time this is!" keep it real. ___________________________________ who's got the pig?
  25. mo is right - don't fake anything. don't do anything you wouldn't do if the reporter wasn't there. and make sure to tell them they can call any time if they have any additional questions. i actually spent quite a bit of time looking at comments on the boards before i went out and wrote my article, and that really helped to figure out what the concerns and issues were... ___________________________________ who's got the pig?
