Most of the request that a cache be archeived seem to come from very inexperienced cachers. They may need to step back and wait until they have a little better grasp of what caching is all about.
I nominate Geek-Qualizer.
He is a real advocate for geocaching. GQ drove 90 miles to College Station to attend an event . He passed on his knowledge and use of technology to a lot of rookies.
I picked up an April 2006 Geocoing the other day and can't figure out how to log it in to another cache. It is listed as being in my possession on the TB page. But does not show up on my online inventory. I have contacted the owner and he has had similar probles with other coins. Suggestions appreciated??
Actually what I am trying to do is find a cache without the coordinates. By doing a zip search I find that it is 6.2 miles NE. My question is 6.2 miles NE of what? My house or the coordinates for zip code searched?
How do I find the coordinates of a zip code search? example: I do a search for caches in 77840 zip, and it showes 25.1 miles to nearest cache. How would I determine where the actual starting point to measure the distance is located.
I voted to "Create a separate area for them like benchmarks". They are the only kind of caches that I can get my wife of 40 years to hunt. Don't want to give up geocaching but sure don't want to break in a new wife over the issue. They have guided us to many interesting sites that we would have otherwise missed. I'm not real concerned with my stats - just enjoy the hunt.
