that is what I thought I was going to find also. WRONG....... very disappointing

OK, I gave it my try. I attempted and completed my first and only challenge. I think it is a rediculous idea and belittles the idea of virtual caches. Thank goodness the original virtuals have allowed to remain. Too bad new ones can not be created. They said that virtuals were stopped because they didn't follow the geocaching guidelines of having a log to sign. Well where is the log on these challenges? I would much rather to go a statue, read a plaque and learn something than just follow someones whim of a silly picture. Come on Groundspeak. Lets keep the integrity in this game. Virtuals can be created with specific criteria such as earthcaches and have a learning process too. There are so many interesting places to visit. At least with virtuals, you had to visit the sight and prove you were there either by questions or picture. These challenges can be accomplished right in my living room in front of a computer. Is that what you call geocaching??????? I tried it, I don't like it. To each his own, but in my opinion it was a lot of wasted manpower for a "Silly" outcome. The SKPs

I would just like to put my 2 cents worth in on the subject of Challenges. If things don't get better, there will not be any finds from me. I have been trying for the last 3 hours to get a challenge completed to see what happens. I am still waiting. My internet keeps locking up. My screens just sit there with a little wheel turning waiting for something to happen. No instructions, just hunt and peck to figure it out. As far as this replacing virtuals, this isn't what I was imaginning it to be. This looks like it is just going to become a variety of Waymarking. I saw nothing wrong with the old style of virtuals. We learned things, we saw things that we would have never seen before, and we went places that we would never have thought of going. This is a poor replacement. PLEASE BRING BACK VIRTUALS as they were. We at least had to verify with the owner of our find. This has no way of verification. Just a number thing in my opinion. Challenges of this type should not count toward finds as regular caches. Does anyone else feel as I do, or am I alone out here??????

Well, for what it is worth, there is nothing about your homepage in your profile. All the fields are empty!? I think something must have been mis-interpreted here. I am referring to the youtube video link on the home page of GEOCACHING.COM. The video does NOT show up when I sign in. I just have a blank block. I am trying to find the actual URL to the video that is used so that I can find out what might be blocked by my security system. If anybody can give me the actual link listed under properties, I would appreciate it. Thanks

Yea, I knew it was a you tube video. I have looked through my list and can't find anything relating to that. I can view youtube videos from other sources, just not from geocaching.com. If you would give me some informtion about the youtube, I would appreciate it. Would you please right click on the image and look at properties? Then if you would copy the URL address for me then maybe I can find something. Thanks in advance.

I previously wrote and said that I have links missing on geocaching.com home page. It was suggested that I check ad blocking for the banner pictures., I did that and thanks for the information all is well there, However, I still have the link to the video missing. It used to be there so I probably have something else blocked to. My problem is, I don't know what to look for in my block list, Could somebody enlighten me. Thanks in advance. The SKPs

Are you running any ad blocking addins or software? Those pics are currently coming from their banner server, which is on most ad blocking lists. Not that I am aware of. The only thing that I did was to the Default settings of Internet Explorer. I was having another problem and a tech from my provider talked me through it. Since then, these links have not shown up. What do I have to check or uncheck for the ad blocking addin

I don't know if this is really important or not, but for the last 2 weeks, I have not gotten the video link or the 2 pictures at the top of the home page. The pictures are just 2 plain red squares. The video link just shows a little icon in upper left corner. I am unaware of anything changing on my computer, but if it is on my side, maybe somebody could tell me what to fix. This the only place it seems to be happening. Just on the Geocaching.com home page. Thanks to anyone that might shed a little light on this subject. The SKPs

Thank, that is just what I was looking for. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get it on my profile. I am just learning all of this "html stuff". This is a great big learning curve for me. Thanks again

I am looking for a state map (Florida) that I can highlight the counties we have geocached in. I found one for the United States for the states cached in. I would like to then be able to use the link on my profile page. Does anyoe know of a link for this?

No "my find" queries for me either. Getting others, and haven't requested a "my Find" query since 10/22/09. Date last run isn't changing so I am assuming it is never getting submitted. I have been trying for 2 or 3 days. It's funny how fast we miss something when we can't run it. I guess I will live until they get it fixed.
