  1. It's gotta be Dr. Who by goblindust.
  2. Just got sent to this post from another. Moderator closed it and said the map issues were being discussed here. Comment also said "they're working on it" but I don't see any comment on that recently. Does anyone know if anything is really going on to fix this problem?
  3. Two items of response: 1) I do have autoupdate on. Just forced it to reinstall. And 2) I've noticed that the maps work fine "for awhile." After opening several windows and/or tabs, the same ol' problems return. So it's not really fixed after all. Any time I reboot, I get it all to work again. Any other solutions??
  4. Once I updated to SP2, the map problem went away. Why couldn't someone at Groundspeak tell us this? http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=74211
  5. Ditto; three PCs: XP, IE6 XP WME, IE7 XP, IE7 Can't use a map on any of them. It's ridiculous. Geocaching.com ... what are you doing about this? Where are the moderator responses on this one? Thanks.
  6. "The way he described it, I don't think this should be a problem. Sounds to me like all the caches have been placed, and the pages created. He's just asking the reviewer to hold off publishing them all at once. " Correct. Except that the "he" is a "she". Two caches published; one found; two yet to come.
  7. Just as beauty is in eye of the beholder, so is "respect". I am always respectful in a cemetery, whether there for a geocache or any other reason, including walking my dog. When I am gone, I would be happy to know others are enjoying my "space" in the world. For a good reason to bring cachers to a cemetery, check out the location of one of my favorites, the Kuehnle Cemetary cache. I'm thrilled to see a space like this preserved, even in the midst of the inevitable development.
  8. I have all of the caches placed and "enabled" and my local reviewer is aware of my intentions, so I'm hoping to pull it off as planned. I asked the reviewer for an opinion on this and he/she chose to abstain. So thought I'd ask here instead. Thanks for the feedback and encouragement. Caches should be showing up soon.
  9. I have several new caches planned for a park that has previously been off-limits to caching. I have placed a decent FTF prize in each one. Will I be considered a jerk if I publish the caches one at a time, so that the same person doesn't grab all of the FTFs? Just want to make these caches as much fun for everyone, but don't want folks to get a negative impression, either. Thanks for any opinions.
  10. Ditto on all the problems. It's terrible. I've given up using the maps entirely for searching for caches and I hate it. The scrolling options were the entire reason I first paid up to the premium membership years ago. I'd pay now just to go back to maps that work. Using IE 7 and WinXP ME.
  11. Many of the stats and maps you see in profiles were created using CacheStats (www.logicweave.com).
  12. Never mind ... just found (again!) the HTML checkbox. Thanks.
  13. When I placed my first cache, I was able to use html in order to spice up the page a bit. I added a photo and formatted the text the way I wanted to. Now when trying to create a new cache, the website strips the html code from the description. Is there a reason for this? Are we no longer allowed to format our cache pages however we wish? Thanks for any info.
  14. Recently, I was trying to create a new pocket query from another user's route. Every time I tried to save it, I got a server error. After a few attempts, I gave up. Now, when I go back to my pocket queries, I have five versions of the same pocket query. If I try to select one in order to delete it, I get the following server error. What do I do now? Server Error in '/' Application. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Queue empty. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.InvalidOperationException: Queue empty. Source Error: An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.
  15. I've walked away in disgust from my PC three times in the last three days. How can anyone say the server problems are getting better?! Only seems to be getting worse for me. Maybe GC.com can move the premium members to a server all our own. I don't usually put up with this type of service for something I've paid for. Good thing I love to cache. And good for GC.com that I renewed a few weeks ago. Next time, I'm not going to pay for this when I don't have to. It's just starting to be good spring caching weather here in the PNW. They better do something fast!
  16. Somewhere along the way, geocaching.com increased the number of pocket queries we can have from 20 to 40. (Thank you!) But now that my list is getting longer, I'd like to better organize them. They appear to be in the order in which I created them, with no options for changing that. Can you default them to order by name? Then I can at least use an intelligent naming convention to organize a little better. Thanks for listening. 3MudDogs
  17. I'm pleased with the new Google map features on geocaching.com. But as usual, we're never satisfied with cool, new stuff. We always want more. On the gmnearest page (not the cache_details page), can you a) increase the map size to utilize more available screen space and add the same "Found" checkmarks (or something similar) to the cache list on the right side of the screen when users are logged in. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
