I was geocaching today, put my gps in my pocket. Took it out of my pocket and saw it had gone to the filter menu by itself. Went to select my next geocache, and nothing showed up. Reset the GPS and still nothing. It had 1500 caches loaded on it. Got home and did another reset, deleted caches, and readded through gsak. Then deleted again and readded through pocket query. Tried both the SD card and loading them on the unit. Now the unit only shows 1 cache called "Melbourne" 32km away from where I live. I cannot get any to show. Have tried to reset again, and it will freeze when you hit the delete. Did a hard reset using the power button, and the problem is still there. Right now cannot be used for geocaching. Also took batteries in and out and also removed SD card and put back in.

oregon 650 times out viewing caches
Dora the Explorer! replied to Dora the Explorer!'s topic in GPS technology and devices
I got hold of a computer and deleted the caches and downloaded them again with new pocket query and it seems to be fixed. I also did a reset. -
I am overseas in Indonesia and my oregon 650 times out when viewing descriptions of caches and viewing hints. It worked fine last week in Australia. When you hit the description to show, it just goes into a loop and does,t show description, and does the same for hints.

You have to choose the day it says on the server, not the actual day. Here in the land downunder we are a day ahead

When I am out doing a multi cache, i put in the next set of coordinates. Then all i get is a line showing on the map to the next co ordinates. How do i get the gps to show me how far it is or put a compass on the gps like it does on the geo cache dashboard. I am going to thailand and malaysia sshortly. What sort of map do i need to download? Will a street map do?

I have tried using a SanDisk 32g Ultra and a SanDisk 8g - normal. Have formatted both cards and even made up folder called Garmin then a sub folder GPX, and put the caches inside. I can see these files on the cards when it is on my PC. But for some reason the Garmin Oregon does not read them. I have tried loading the GPX files with the memory card in the GPS and with the memory card in the card reader. Doesn't work either way.

Entering co-orinates with .9
Dora the Explorer! replied to Dora the Explorer!'s topic in How do I...?
Thanx for the replies, very helpful. -
We are newbies and have just got the Magellan gps. I understand to enter coordinates i add a way point. But I am having trouble entering these coordinates. S 37° 53.904' E 145° 19.982' and S 37° 53.989' E 145° 18.567' have tried different formats but it seems to not like the number .904 or .989 because it is more than 60 what do we do? We have searched all over the net. We are from Australia.
