  1. Works fine for me... Rebooted my phone after deleting the first version. (by holding on/off and home) installed the new version and did a reboot. No problems at all ! Great app !!!!! Love the new options. Will be out caching with it soon
  2. I also posted this in the other topic... I think it strange that you don't need to login to use the app. On the website you don't get coordinates when you are not logged in / no account. iPhone users that install the app (9,99 is not that much) and are not familiar with caching will get all the coordinates without an account on geocaching.com Are we attracting mugglers.. Or new born cachers that will visit the cache from the app, but never log over the website. They can start caching, without having to read the website, accept the terms because they never made an account.. Is it just me being worried for 'unwanted' app users that are not familiar with the website and the general terms of caching
  3. On the GEOCACHING website you NEED to log on to see the coordinates.. From the app EVERYONE can open the app and go to the caches.... Even iphone users that are not familiar with caching but installed the app can see coordinates.. Are we attracting mugglers (for $9,99) ??? Login from the app is very wanted
  4. One more thing I found today when testing: The navigation screen only shows MILES / FEET. Not METERS/KILOMETERS. Regardsless to the setting screen..
  5. I love the application !! Finally no more printing of caches.. The only thing are the international characters indeed. The text is totally messed up.. But I am confident, that will be solved soon
  6. This is GREAT !!!! I hope it will be in the Dutch App-store soon ;-) I have been using Geocache Navigator on my N95 for a year, and switched to the iPhone because my N95 dropped.. unfortunatly the GeocacheNavigator is not available for the iPhone. So a good application is very very welcome. I hope this is just the start and that the app will be expanded in functionality along the way. Some features I cannot see from the screenshots (that I loved in GeocacheNavigator): * Filter on chache types when finding them. (Just Traditionals/ only multi's etc) * When finding caches filter chaches "I have found". So you don't get all founds. * Log caches from the app (through Field notes?) * I assume "settings" will let you change the app to metric display of the distances. * Show TB inventory of a cache * When showing cache details, be able to turn to landscape mode, to make reading more easy. One thing that is in the app and not in Geocache navigator is the "show TB" function! This is great, I always missed that in GN. Also the SAVE cache option looks great. GN needs a data connection everytime you change screens, in areas without coverage this is really annoying. (As I live near belgium, I avoid the border area with my phone because data roaming costs are to high. Being able to save caches in the phone's memory will be great !) Other feature requests I forsee in the future: * have a way to not use the compass screen. (at least switch the GPS off). As some of us will still use their GPS devices, it would save a lot off battery live to not use the GPS all the time. So just for searching caches near you it will be used. The cache details screen will not need the GPS to be turned on. * decript hints ;-) * Show the last find date in the main screen. I always check the last found date before starting a cache. A less important thing, that can be in version 10 ;-) Projecting waypoints. Some caches require projecting Way Points. Great work Groundspeak ! This makes being a premium member even better!! Keep up to good work and happy caching !! ( $9.99 is to cheap in Euro's ;-) )
  7. Hi all, In the netherlands there is this option on the home page to show ALL new chaches in the netherlands. I really like this list. The only thing that would make this list totaly perfect is to have a column added to it with the distance to home coordiantes. That way it would be very easy to the user to see if the new caches is close to home ;-) This is the link to the list. Thanks for your replies

    Caches Near me

For a quick look at a certain type of cache (like multis), using the same main menu option 'show caches near me': find the nearest multi and then click on the link on that cache page that says "nearby caches of this type" or "[nearby caches of this type] that I haven't found" and it will show you the caches like that one, in increasing distance from that cache. Thanks for your help. This is also an option.. lots of ways to get caches from, still confusing for me. Maybe I will get used to it. Building Pocket Queries seems to be the best solution for me for now..

    Caches Near me

Thanks. I will try that.. For me as a new bee it is hard to find my way through the geocaching website. There are plenty of places to get info and caches from. The main menu shows a nice menu option 'show caches near me'. To bad it doesn't have more filter options in that screen. I managed to get it through pocket queries though. Thanks again.

    Caches Near me

When doing a listing on caches near me I would appriciate an option to filter on cache types.. I want a list of multi caches near me for example...
  11. As more and more Nokia phones are equipped with an internal GPS, these are used for geocaching more often. I am using a Nokia N95. It is a perfect phone and the GPS receiver satisfies my needs. I use the standard Nokia Maps software to navigate to caches. Arriviong at the first Waypoint I switch to ViewRanger to find the cache. Viewrager has the option to import LOC files, so I am good there. But to navigate (by car) to the first waypoint I need Nokia Maps. Nokia Maps has a way to import Landmarks (POI's) in the LMX format as described in this document (http://sw.nokia.com/id/9001c8de-c19e-41a0-...ion_v1_0_en.pdf). Is there an option to have LMX files directly generated from the geocaching.com website? PS: I did ask a friend of mine to write me a small conversion program for the time being
  12. When generating LOC files from the website the type is always GEOCACHE. I would like to have the type the type of the cache (normal, multi, earth, etc).
  13. This app needs a external Bluetooth GPS.. So doesn't work with the Nokias internal GPS :-(
