  1. Well I uninstalled EasyGPS and re-installed it and got the same results, only 5 locs displayed. So after reading Prime Suspect's suggestion I opened the file with wordpad and found it only contains 5 locs to start with. Yet the funny thing is having the pocket query generate a prc file for my ebook program does have 50 entries. So I wonder what happended to the loc file why is it so much smaller in content. 2. I setup a pocket query that contains 50 geocaches close to home, but when I open the .loc file in Groundspeak's EasyGPS it only displays 5 of the cache locs. Is this a limitation in the software for it being free? "I was born in the dark, but it wasn't last night..."
  3. Thanks. I'll give that a try. I was born in the dark, but it wasn't last night..."
  4. I can't seem to get the Lat/Lon section of a pocket query right. How do I enter my home location coords of: Lat:36.551460 Lon:-082.550071 TIA I was born in the dark, but it wasn't last night..."
  5. I agree with El Diablo. For me and my wife the real treasure is spending time together doing something outside of the house. Naturally I want to leave what I consider to be quality/worthwhile items for the next geocacher that comes along. But I don't let the eveness of the "trade" effect our fun in finding them. 6. Umm, how about entering the Lat/Long coords into your GPS and then use its map to see what the closest road is? As far as I know there are no free/pay websites or programs to buy that turn coordinates into an address. Like Shibby I'ved used Map Point and Delorme SA to locate a cache on a real map. Both programs will even figure out driving directions for you to get as close as possible too. I was born in the dark, but it wasn't last night..."
  7. Thanks guys. I have a sample now. I appreciate your replies and help. I was born in the dark, but it wasn't last night..."
  8. First off I'm a newbie to GPS's and their software. I just recently bought a Meridian and a copy of Mapsend S&D. Found out that a GPS or the Mapsend program won't do auto-routing a trip for me. I will need to use a 3rd party software like DeLorme for trip planning. But heres my reason for this post. Now mind you I am well aware of what I am asking for here. But I wonder if some kind sole would provide me with like a 50 mile circumferance around my home town of Kingsport, TN from Mapsend Topo for me to evaluate please. I have purchased Mapsend S&D already and am considering Mapsend Topo after reading the opinions posted here, but I just can't afford to keep dumping money into software for this thing. I'd like to see if Mapsend Topo is more like what I really wanted by trying out this sample if someone would be so kind to help me. Again I know what I am asking here and I won't be offended if the mods of this forum delete or lock this post, or even if I get flamed by the regular posters here. I'm just trying to make sure my next software purchase is what I want. I was born in the dark, but it wasn't last night..."
  9. Thanks for the replies. Being a newbie I guess I asked my question too quick. After digging around in the forums here I pretty much gathered that my initial assumptions were correct. Thanks again guys. I was born in the dark, but it wasn't last night..."
  10. Just bought Mapsend S&D and it appears to me that theres is no automatic way to do trip planning/driving directions routing. Am I correct, or am I missing something? I was born in the dark, but it wasn't last night..."
