  1. Someone posted in another thread that they talked to Garmin and was told they would be shipping the week of March 1st. So I am really getting excited. I have been watching for the manual to be available cause the when the C model was shipped the manual was ready two days prior to shipment of the C. murph
  2. So in other words I am replacing my Vista with a 60CS to help out my CSTSS and I am going to have just as much trouble seeing things and even maybe more?? murph

    Waypoints

What E-trex did you get. If you have your computer cable you can download them directly without manually feeding them in your E-trex. Makes it a lot easier. murph
  4. If you have the cable to communicate with your computer you can download Expertgps. This program you can try for free for about a month but then there is a roughly $50.00 charge to continue to use. You can move your waypoints, routes and tracks back and forth and map aerial maps and topo maps with it. There may be some free ones out there but not sure. I have the expertgps and I like it a lot. murph
  5. That is correct also in the Garmin press releases. The 60CS would not be available until March. However, Garmin did lead the retailers that it would be availalble in February a week or so after the 60C was released. Then they backed down. I don't mind it being March if we would have totally understood that up front. I let my Vista go when I should not have as I patiently wait now for the CS. I guess my frustration is I am big kid waiting for a toy!!! I can wait but it is a tough one
  6. the 76C is suppose to come out fairly soon after the 60CS comes out. But from what I know is the 76CS will not come out until June. If I knew the 76CS version since I love and use the compass a lot I would cancel my 60CS. However, I am GPSless and can not wait until June or even take a chance on waiting as I also use it for business. murph Oh yes and by the way. It is very close to the time that the 60CS is to be shipped but yet even Garmin does not know the ship date of them. I would think most manufactures this close to production would know?? Something just doesn't seem right, I sell a product where the manufacture has the assembly line set up for a year in advance and they can tell exactly when a product will go down the assembly line.
  7. On two occassions now I have clicked on report instead of reply. So I have reported two people with replies. . I went back and made note of that so I hope the people didn't get a warning. I would think the moderators would catch that it is a post. murph
  8. The training video?? I found the best thing is to just use the GPS. Play with it, you can't hurt it. I have learned more from just playing with it and here on Geocaching.com. So I guess I would think some more on the video. It may help you a lot though. You might want to get the AC adapter so you can use it in your car. I found my Vista to be great for traveling. murph
  9. I got an email from Garmin just yesterday. The guy told me as of right now they have to date set for shipping. They won't know until the day they ship. Gee, Garmin is a big company and being this close you would think they would have a better idea or even update their web page to give us information. It is frustrating both the retailers and us consumers.
  10. Your seeing more and more GPS/Navigation systems being installed in more and more cars. Chrysler has some and so does Cadillac. And OnStar in most of the Chevy Suburbans has GPS but not the navigation, but for a yearly fee you can get access to just about anything, just dial in and they will tell you where you are, where the closes hotel is and even call in advance for occupancy for you. Kind of neat, I don't subscribe but have a business aquaintance that does and he loves it. murph Oh and moderator take out the report I made by mistake, sorry
  11. I checked a few of your cache pages and don't see where they will be pulled? So I will ask here, why are they being pulled. I have one I visited last fall and could not find so I need to get back up there. I won't get there until May so it will probably be gone, but why I ask why?? murph But thanks for all the ones you did put out there.
  12. It takes me to the agreement page but tells me I have already accepted. So not sure what my problem is.
  13. Also if there is a lot of trees use your GOTO feature if you have it from 3 or 4 different locations. Then average where your being pointed to. That helps but the idea of putting your GPS away when you are within 10 feet or so is a good idea. I have been lucky so far, I have one out of 14 finds that I can't find and I will go back next spring but I pretty much pulled the rest of the hair out of my head trying to find. Best of luck to you and hang in there. murph
  14. I am using ExpertGPS and having the trouble on two different computers with it. murph
  15. I typically have the same problem but it takes me to the Terms and Agreement page. Funny when I get to that page it tells me that I have already agreed to the Terms and Agreements. The only way I can make it work it to log out and log back in. Then I get to use it a whopping three times before it quits working again. I have posted this trouble on two different occassions and have seen other posts regarding this problem and yet today no one has come up with a solution to the problem. I hope someday the problem gets resolved as it is frustrating. If the problem would go away if I become a Premium member I would do it in a heartbeat but others have posted that becoming a Premium member will not solve the problem. murph
  16. Interesting, I got a note from GPSdiscount two days ago that they would have them in ten days? I guess until I actually see the thing I won't believe anything. As much of a Garmin fan as I am I am disapointed. Not so much of when but just not knowing. murph
  17. Gpscity was the one that originally told me the 60CS would be available the last week of January also. If they truly would have the 76CS Available in April I would wait. Im just not sure who to believe on the dates. I guess I will believe when I see. murph
  18. Not to keep an old thread going but maybe Garmin waited with the CS until the C was out a bit. I see the C has already a firmware update. Maybe Garmin will ship the CS with the newer firmaware. I would have wanted the unit and updated the firmware myself instead of waiting. We will see hopefully Garmin will release the CS soon. Update for the C. Notice The Corrected items. Murph Added Resume Navigation and Recalculate options to the Map, Compass, and Highway Navigation pages. Added speed-filtering feature to the Marine Setup. Added New Zealand Transverse Mercator and Austrian Grid support. Updated language translations. Enabled the Active button on the Route List page to work with all route types. Enabled the Active Route page to be in the main page sequence if navigating an on-route GoTo. Corrected a problem with calendar memory that caused records to become unavailable temporarily. Corrected a problem with the calendar Remove All option that caused points associated with days in the future to not be removed. Corrected a problem that caused elevation data requiring five digits to not display correctly. Corrected a problem that could cause a route to be deleted while editing it on the map. 19. What about the level you have the backlight set to. My Vista I was able to set the leve and if it was set way low the back light could be on but really not showing up. Just a thought. I want to watch this thread as I am patiently waiting for my CS. murph
  20. Thanks Cruzin, I appreciate all your help. I will sleep now. murph
  21. The regions were named 1 to 7. So what is North America or once I connect my GPS will it be automatic??
  22. Ok but I still don't understand what is this "Unlocking a Regions"?? I thought the City Select gave me the complete United States?? It looks like there could be 7 different regions? murph
  23. Yes but I can't unlock it without my GPS right? I don't have my GPS as of yet or I would just unlock it. Another thing is can I only unlock one region and have to pay for the rest. I thought I would get the whole United States with it? I am really confused about what I am getting here. murph
  24. The street price is only about $45 difference. So for $45 and a little patience, and can get the GPS you really want. Or spend the next few years wishing you had waited a little. That's a no-brainer to me. My problem is that I used the compass so much on my Vista. I would hate to get the C and then be sorry I didn't wait for the CS. You see, Murphy's law is that if I changed my order to the C, then Garmin would ship the CS's to everyone else the next day. "If anything can go wrong, it will"" murph
  25. Today I got my City Select North America and decided to install on my computer. When I got to the unlocking portion I could not unlock it because I don't have my New Gps from Garmin yet. I really wanted to open the program and play around with it but it won't really let me do anything until I unlock it. I tried to unlock regions but without Garmins 25 digit code I can't. Is this true can I not use the program even just to mess around and get use to it without the unlock code?? murph
