  1. I have not used my GPS in a few years and I can not for the life of me remember how to delete the caches on the GPS. I need to put in a fresh PQ. HELP!!!
  2. I was looking for the answer here, and actually just figured it out on my own. YEAH ME! Open GSAK and go to the Geocaching.com access tab. Go to Publish Logs, and click Fetch. Away you go.
  3. I have been on a at least 1 cache a day streak for over 2 years now and I live in Cleveland Ohio. So yes I have cached in it ALL!! I would say the wind .. yes, is the worst to deal with. The best advise for cold weather caching is dress warmly and with layers. Keep your feet and your head warm and invest in a GOOD pair of gloves and all is good. Hiking in the snow is really fun... the crisp air is invigorating, and its just a different form of clean beauty. Specially when the ice is glistening in the sun... don't lock yourself away till Spring... get out there and enjoy!!
  4. Also a good place to ask questions relating to the Cleveland area is a website called GeoChums. It is a board open to everyone but many of the folks that check that board are local to the Cleveland and surrounding areas. Geochums
  5. Thank you so much for the help! That's exactly what I was looking for!
  6. I have used ItsNotAboutTheNumber.com for stats on my profile in the past, but I dont remember how I chose the the different stats to show up on my profile page at GC.com. Where is it that I go to on ITAN to find that?
  7. Thank you... that worked for me and I have a better idea of where I stand. WOOT... lookin' good!
  8. Busted!! You know your an ADDICT cacher when you get the sweats when your GPS and PDA are not in the car with you.
  9. Yes I know who my reviewer is and he is a very nice person!! I too have cached with my reviewer and its amazing to me that NO he didn't know where every cache was. YES, he is a fantastic cacher, but after approving so many caches he said there is no way he could remember each one. Therefore the fun is still in it! Have you hugged YOUR appprover today?
  10. If he put all the answers right in the log... eeeeeeeeek... I think I would have deleted too. I am sure he can repost the find without all the answers. Not fun to do ... but I agree that it was prob ness.
  11. Well I am on a consecutive caching day streak and I am curious where I can find stats for other cachers that might be doing the same. Its Not about the numbers used to carry the stat, but hasn't for a while now, so I am wondering if anyone knows of a different site that does. Please advise. Thanks
  12. Can you run one for me. LOL!!! Mine still have not come in from 7am this morning, and I have resorted to going to nearest caches I haven't found, and clicking the box at the bottom of the page of 20 caches opening that into GSAK, and at least downloading the cords into the GPS. I have no cache write ups, but at least I have cords in the GPS. Hey its better than nothing... I am growing impatient like the rest of the group... buuuuuuuut... life goes on. Nothing to get my panties in a knot about. I am sorry to the folks that have traveled so far to be stuck on the road with limited powers. I feel for ya!!
  13. I have to say that I am frustrated about the PQ not working also... BUT me having the warped sense of humor that I have says to myself... hmmm how did I EVER find the first 500 caches when I had to punch each individual waypoint in on my Garmin Gecko? How did I ever find anything after I printed out a cache on (GASP) paper? I have to say... have we become so spoiled by convenience? Don't get me wrong... I still am waiting for my PQ to come through.. but I am trying to be patient and am only running it ONCE to avoid longer lines!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. WOOOOOOT DER IT IS!! Thanks for the quick help sir!! SJ
  15. Since the switch to the new home page I have not been able to search the upcoming event caches by State or the newly published caches. I DO see that you can check the "event" calender but it has like EVERYTHING on there from all over the place. I really liked the conveince of the calender that was simple and laid out just the events and newly published for my state. If it is still there... please show me where it is... THX SJ

  17. About 3 years ago a local cacher left his old PDA in a cache as the FTF prize. At the time I was still caching with papers flying all over the car, so when I saw that the FTF prize was a PDA I through the kids and the GPS in the car and we were off to get it. We beat another cacher by about 15 mins. (Yes I was speeding... shhhh) I was soooo thrilled to grab the PDA and of course sent a hardy thank you email to the cache owner. What a blessing it was to finally go paperless. So for me the prize was priceless!
  18. Well first off I am NOT a huge poster to the GC forums... but this one I had to step up to the plate for. I DO live in NE Ohio. Just west of Cleveland. Our area is busting at the seams with caches. So much so that I have been able to keep a cache a day (or more than one a day) streak of caching alive for almost a whole year now. Yes.. I have been able to find at least one cache a day for 315 plus days. And I am NOT a new cacher. I have over 3,000 finds. Yes, there are some days that I have to travel 8 to 10 miles, but all in all I have never had to farther than 20 miles to get a cache for the day. So, that tells you that there are new caches being placed all the time in the area. Yep, even through the blizzard of 2008 our awesome group in NE Ohio was placing caches for this Crazy Cat to find. So please when you point a finger at this area and say that there are NOT alot of caches "near your home of NE Ohio"... please also note that you are the EXTREME end of NE Ohio which is on the boarder of PA. Just my humble two cents.
  19. Well the forums have been sitting here all along and I never really looked through them until today. Yep because of Eric. That boy will continue to show me new things even after he has gone around the bend. *shaking head* Thanks Eric... Missin ya. Suz
