  1. Hi all, I experienced a little problem with my GPS up north in Canada. Problem: All of my settings were correct on my Garmin GPS 12 XL. In the field my eastings are accurate, but my northings are out by approx. 225 metres. I compared with a friend who's settings were correct. How can I correct this and what causes this problem?” I think that I may have found the problem. I had the setting on NAD27, instead of NAD83. Could this be the reason? Thanks.

Jomarac5 rant on the forest fires in his Province have nothing to do with this thread. If he has pictures of them.. WHILE Geocaching.. then he can post them.

If so, our province is in a terrible state of emergency right now with over 800 of them right now, many of them are very, very big. http://www.silk.fm/silk/firefiles/FirePictures/August%2020/slides/stevedevries.html has burned an entire 98 hectare provincial park and is now going full force, completely uncontainable, towards Kelowna, the largest city in the Okanagan Valley, with a population of 96,000 people. Four hours ago on the 11:00 PM news it was reported that 30,000 people had been evacuated from their homes and houses were burning. Sure hope it rains. ***** What does THAT have to do with the original thread?! Please post a PICTURE of bad weather caching. If we wanted to know about forest fires, we would turn on the news. Thanks!
  4. Sympathy threads are tiresome. Threads telling another member to leave.. scram.. we don't want you are immature. And don't leave a great impression on the author. That's it for me. I hope we all learn something from this thread.. DON'T TAKE THINGS TO HEART! Team 360: I apologize for my first post.

Your little trick of saying you are leaving and hoping everyone will say "no, please don't" did not work! If you say you are leaving then leave and don't come back or read these forums. You said you weren't going to. As I said before, good riddance! We don't need the likes of you here. And people seem to agree on this one. I don't think we need people who would say this. I agree.. RobertM seems like he has a few issues of his own; anger management should be in his future. My original post seemed to be directed solely towards Team 360. However, it was more so directed towards the majority of the threads I've been reading in these forums last last few months.

Okay! http://www.radioparadise.com/modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_wave.gif Bye! http://img.Groundspeak.com/user/3608_2800.gif _"Don't mess with a geocacher. We know all the best places to hide a body."_ The fact that this site has advertisment banners, has now classified it as commercial. I'm sure the businesses that are paying for the advertising do not like to see bickering among the fellow members on this forum; the more members, the most likely they are to sell products. For this reason, I think the administrators would want to make every effort to accomadate requests such as holding "Virtual Caches". Possibly hold a vote among members; even having the vote only for "premium" members? At any rate, a simple "no, you can't have it" doesn't solve anything.

  8. I would expect these kinds of threads from a kids forum.. sympathy threads. Isn't the average age of this community over 30!!!! Grow up!
  9. I can also sell the camera separtely. Make me an off if you would like It's a great camera, that has amazing quality. Thanks!
  10. Hi all, I'm looking at purchasing a digital video camera, and therefore, I am looking to sell my HP Digital Camera model 318, w/ 2.31MP. I purchased the camera in October (hardly use it). With the camera, I purchased a new 128MB SanDisk memory card, and a carrying case. It can hold a TON of high quality pictures. I have the original box and manuals/papers included. There is a 1 year parts warranty on the camera (whatever is remaining since October). I purchased the camera new at $249 +tax and the 128MB memory at $99.99+tax, case $32.99 + tax. I'm asking $200.00 CAN for everything or make me an offer. If you have any questions, please let me know. I'm located near Toronto, Ontario. If you have any questions, please let me know at n2002rt@yahoo.com Thanks.
  11. Wow, thanks for the quick reples guys! Regards
  12. Hi all, I haven't seen any official rules under the GPS Goarage Sale forum, but assumed that it means just that, GPS or GPS Accessories. How would you all feel if other items were sold, e.g. Caching equipment, e.g. Digital Camera's or such. I realize not everyone wants to see items like: cars, Home theatres, but would digital camera's be acceptable?
  13. Please.. that's an insult. My car can go much faster than that. Anyways.. how about we get back onto topic.
  14. I may have brought this up before, but was wondering again if anyone has had this problem. I'll be using my GPS.. excellent as always.. and I won't bother resetting the values on the information page. Weeks will go by.. then I'll look at my maximum speed, and it'll be something outrageous like 190km/h!!! Has anyone else's maximum speed varied like this? Thanks
  15. Man.. I hunted for a cache for 2 hours.. and didn't find it. It twas a nice day for a hike doh. P.S. How do you quote someone..?
  16. Cache Canucks... Nobody likes getting the third degree from anyone!.. and I'm sure you are the same. Let's all get along.. thankyou.. thanyhou very much P.S. Magellan SUCKS!.. the screen resolutions are cheap cheap cheap!!!
  17. If you're not going to sell me the GPS, then go www.getagps.com. There is a link to "live" technical support.
  18. You'd probably be much happier with the Magellan. I recommend you purchase a Magellan. P.S. If you can't return the Vista, I'll purchase it off you.
  19. I simply plug in the co-ordinates, and go looking. With a mapping GPS, it will appear the same way the map on the website shows it.
  20. You'll be happy with it, trust me. You can always buy them both at Future Shop/Best Buy, and test them out for yourself. Both stores have a 30 day money back guarantee. This is what I did.
  21. The basemaps are the maps that come with the GPS. The basemap is just that, base. It includes only major roads, and major waterways. You will want to purchase the additional mapping software (for Garmin = MapSource, for Magellan = MapSend). These are additional charges. The mapping capability also relies on how much memory your GPS has. For the Legend, you may only be able to store maps for 1 state. Whereas the Vista, with 24mb, you can contain a larger area.
  22. Is this upgrade for a Garmin Legend? Will it affect MapSource software for Canada? Thanks
  23. Simply this: You are going to want to have mapping features, so why would you buy anything without it. Spend a little more and buy something you'll like.
