  1. Please bump the existing topic instead of starting a new topic. I am merging the threads.
  2. Moving this to the Arabian forum.
  3. I am merging the new topic with the existing one. Please feel free to bump the existing topic rather than starting another one. Thanks.
  4. It appears that Georgia enacted a ban on geocaches in state-owned WMA's sometime in September of 2007. We will presume that this policy is still in effect unless someone can provide us with an official communication stating otherwise.
  5. This topic has appeared in most of the incorrect regional forums. Closing this topic.
  6. You can also create a search (and a pocket query, if you are a premium member) based on the approximate latitude and longitude of your destination.
  7. Sites managed by the Department of Interior - such as National Parks and National Wildlife Refuges - are expressly off-limits to caches. Please see the guidelines posted here for more information about prohibited cache locations.
  8. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, a pocket full of money and a cellar full of beer!
  9. Under current conditions, explicit permission is not required to places caches in National Forests in Florida. However, management staff in the ONF have indicated that this might change in the future. Abuses by off-roaders have led to tighter restrictions on access to some areas but managers are not convinced that our game poses any real harm to the resource.
  10. We can no longer sit back and allow Virtual infiltration, Virtual indoctrination, Virtual subversion and the international Virtual conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.
  11. And don't neglect the Terracaching virtuals in every park...
  12. If you are staying on Disney property, you are pretty much out of luck. Disney does not want physical caches and you won't find anything other than the virtuals. Orlando is not pedestrian-friendly and you will need a car if you want to escape Rat World. You can do a proximity search around the WDW virtuals and get a list of what is nearby, in case you are staying someplace else. Good luck.
  13. I created my reviewer account in order to keep my player account separate and more manageable. Most people in my reviewing area know who I am and what my favorite cold beverage is, but very few know that my favorite color is lilac.
  14. You might also try posting in the forums at the Florida Geocaching Association website.
  15. You might get a better response in the forums of the FGA website.
  16. If you don't get any response here, try posting at the Florida Geocaching Association website.
  17. Since this thread appears to be beating the dead horse of Virginia's forum placement, further discussion of that topic can take place in the existing threads. Closing this topic.
  18. There is a West Marine and a Bass Pro Shop not too far from OIA. I know that either of these stores can get one and they ought to have them in stock. If you are going to be here for an extended period, you might try an online vendor to save some $$ and have them ship to your hotel. Drop me a line through my profile when you get into town and I'll try to give you an assist.
  19. Try a proximity search from this cache. There are also several bookmark lists shown on the cache page. Enjoy your trip.
  20. If you are the cache owner, and logged in, go to the TB listing. You will see an option on that page to mark it as missing. It would be courteous to inform the TB owner of your action, in case they look at the TB page and wonder where the heck it went to. Many TBs marked as missing in this manner will get logged later as "grabbed from somwhere else" instead of "retrieved from ...".
  21. Actually, that's not the only issue for matches, lighters, and the like. These items have been known to spontaneously combust under the right circumstances. The issue of pyromaniacs finding their favorite toys may be foremost in everyone else's minds but my dealings with land managers point to the other concern. Any knucklehead can bring a book of matches into the woods and start a fire so they aren't as worried about them being found in caches as they are about them causing an unintentional fire.
  22. I'm sorry for your daughter's loss, but this isn't a geocaching related topic. Closing this thread.
  23. You are correct that there are no physical caches on WDW property. A quick forum search will yield several explanations of that issue. If you get no response here, try posting in the forums at the Florida Geocaching Association website. As a last resort, send me a PM and I'll find someone for you.
