Cache page background images keep disappearing
barefootguru replied to edexter's topic in General geocaching topics
A week or so ago. I’ve since reinstated it. Wasn’t the first time. -
Cache page background images keep disappearing
barefootguru replied to edexter's topic in General geocaching topics
They’ve disappeared off my unpublished caches recently. -
It’s not just ad labs, my Magic Maker souvenir was dated the day after I attended & logged the event (also in Aotearoa New Zealand).

Using Safari to manage a list fails consistently for me.

Wheel of Challenges Timezone
barefootguru replied to themightyvilla's topic in General geocaching topics
This bug has been fixed going forward, and may be fixed for ad labs logged before the fix: -
Still can't use Safari to delete a cache from a list.
-
Are you using Safari? They’ve been unusable since Dec 2022

If FTF isn’t available we’ll often save them for a streak / souvenir / dot day / etc. Or wait until we’re in the area rather than make a special trip out.
-
If you don’t post ASAP, other cachers can waste time & petrol trying for the FTF without realising it’s gone. Definitely good form to log as soon as possible in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Longest Slump - Why track in statistics?
barefootguru replied to MNTA's topic in General geocaching topics
I know a few people who use the stat, as they’re determined to never let it get longer. -
No way to contact AdLab creator from app
barefootguru replied to fizzymagic's topic in Playing Adventures
You can absolutely edit the coords of the stages after the AL is live… and text, answers, etc. It’s the same easy process as creating the stages. -
Multiple bugs when using Safari
-
Groundspeak just keeps introducing new issues with Safari. I browse a lot of sites with Safari, and geocaching.com is the only one which continually has errors. Regularly receive 'Safari Can't Open the Page' on random pages on the site. A refresh or 2 fixes it. Message Centre often displays a blank screen Message Centre often displays 'The conversation failed to load. Please refresh the page to try again.' Most recently, we can't edit details about a list. Most/all of these issues have been reported before. Safari has 10-20% of the desktop browser market, 50% of the mobile. Can Groundspeak do some testing with it please!

When hovering over the ? next to Points Remaining I see ‘logs until next favourite point: 0’. That’s either a very confusing design or bug.

Signal's Labyrinth (Memory Lane)
barefootguru replied to Max and 99's topic in General geocaching topics
Thanks for the PM Max, I'd forgotten the (hidden) option of clicking on your name on the leaderboard to show the individual points. And yes, I've received some 'Signal's Labyrinth item's! -
I get this most times I visit Message Centre. You have to reload the page, sometimes twice, and it will appear.

Signal's Labyrinth (Memory Lane)
barefootguru replied to Max and 99's topic in General geocaching topics
So no souvenir for the firefly, just 60 points? I’ve got 1645 points so far by submitting drafts, but no firefly. -
It seems to be a recent change, that when ctrl-clicking a link on a cache page (e.g. to geocheck.org), instead of opening the link in a new tab like every other website, geocaching.com instead displays a warning about it being an external link. If you OK that warning, the cache page is replaced by the external link, rather than opening a new tab. You can work around it by using the mouse to open the link in a new tab, but it's pretty annoying. Safari 15.4 on macOS.
