We are planning a trip to England in the spring of 08. My wifes family is from the Surry, Devon and Cornwall regions. 1. What is the best month weather wise April, May or June? 2. When do the tourist type things open? 3. Do I need Mapsource for England or will the basic map set be ok? 4. Any suggestions for getting about? Train? Bus? I'm a bit leary of renting a car. 5. Any other suggestions or links that can provide information would be appreciated! Thanks very much. I'm looking forward to exploring and will bring a few Canadian coins with me. Murfster

Thanks everyone. I ordered the Invisible Shield. I think it is worth the price to protect the investment. It is also pre cut to fit exactly. Murfster

Just ordered a new GPS and wondered what others do. Did you buy a screen protector? Is it worth it? I put them on my last units but wonder the value for $10US Is there a Canadian Supplier? Thanks Murfster

I have been reading all this with great interest. Here is an idea I'd like to throw out for some feedback. The Ontario GPS Treasure Hunt caches are in trouble..no money!..or not enough staff! .. or too much distance.. pick one. The idea is good.. more caches to get people started. Yet there are cachers all over the province who are there, and have the local knowledge. What if the OGA ( Ontario Geocaches Association) took over the hiding of caches. Some sort of co-operative effort for the betterment of all. Any thoughts? Murfster

There are risks to using 100% deet and that is why you can only buy the weaker versions. I'd be afraid to use it at 100%. Murfster

Well I finally had a chance to sit and try these. The ARC Builder is much easier to use to draw a route and make up a KML file than Google Earth. Thanks VERY MUCH to all who responded.. Murfster

How do you get screen captures from your GPS? I've never done that and can see it could be handy. Thanks Murfster

I have been using and enjoying the new "Caches along a route" with Google. BUT it picks the quick route. I want to pick my own route and then have it find the caches. i.e. Toronto to Kingston The route it selects is the 401. If I want to take the slower route on Hwy 2 ..can I get caches along that route? Any suggestions?? Thanks Murfster

I did the ARC routes, route! and I found it a pain. The GC.com instrutions are simple and the results were quick. I wish I knew more about GSAK.. I hear lots of good thinks but frankly it is so complex looking. Is there a manual? Honestly I have not spent much time with it. Any good sites that can help tell you what it can do. Murfster

Interesting story out today in many major papers. The Global Positioning System, relied on for everything from navigating cars and airplanes to transferring money between banks, may be threatened by powerful solar flares, a panel of scientists warned Wednesday. Read more here! Murfster

I also noticed I needed to wait for google to finish drawing the route. I may have been too quick on the "save". Have done several today and they are all working?? Thanks everyone!! Murfster

I redid it and now I get finds!! YEA. I had a couple like that and they are all working now. Caches along a route is so great. I also found if I previewed the route it was sure to work. Thanks for your help. Murfster

Can you try posting links to your routes? Maybe we can see something you are missing. I'm not sure how. I have made public all my routes. How can I share a pocket query? The best example is Timmins to Sudbury. I know there are a few caches along that route ( HWY 144) but get no returns. If someone else could try. Thanks Murfster

Thanks!! I don't think so. Some do work.. most of them actually. This has been going on for awhile. Murfster

Help.. I can't seem to find the answer. I have several "Caches along a route" set up. Most of them work just fine. But some return with a message " No caches found.", when I know there are some there? Any suggestions? Anyone else have this problem? Murfster
