  1. That's brilliant, Pieman, thanks a lot. It tells me what I really needed to know.
  2. I need your help and advice, folks! At the moment I have an Oregon 450. I like it, insofar as I like the touchscreen, the size and weatherproof nature of it. What I don't like is the frequency with which it freezes and has to be switched off and on again. Now, a sum of money has fallen into my sweaty grip. I find myself looking at an Oregon 600. Would it be worthwhile changing from the 450 to the 600? Would there be a noticeable improvement in performance? Advice and comment from people who've owned either/both would be much appreciated.
  3. OK; the consensus seems to point at removing the old PQ and setting a new, smaller, Query. I'm going out now; I may be some time . . . . . Thanks for all your help, gents.
  4. Ah. "Remove the original PQ". Would I be right in thinking I would do that with the GPSr connected to my PC? Can you tell me what I'd be looking for in the files, please?
  5. The Query was for 500 caches, I think. I checked Trad,Multi-cache and Letterbox hybrid,Any container, caches That I haven't found,Are Available to All Users and Is Enabled.I didn't specify Difficulty or Terrain and set My Location as the origin of the search. Your point about Within 100 km may be the problem - I set Within 100 miles (oops). If I repeat the Query setting it for 30 miles, won't that lead to downloading a load of duplicates? Will my GPSr reject the dupes?
  6. Help, please. I don't doubt it's something I'm not doing correctly, but when I downloaded a PQ for my area I've found that many caches are not included - some very close to home. From such thin info, can anyone point out what I did wrong/what I should have done to have all caches included?
  7. Indeed it is, for which I apologise - I found this UK section after I'd posted on the other one.
  8. And there's the answer. I've just looked through and discovered that the one I'd really noticed is a series that contains - at last count - 96 caches. Thanks for your help, folks - don't you just hate newbies?
  9. I've only loaded one PQ, and did it using EasyGPS. The PQ contained 500 caches . . . .
  10. No caches were preloaded or manually loaded. The duplication is huge; I haven't counted but some caches appear 6 or more times.
  11. Hello to all here. I've recently started caching, bought an Oregon 450. I set up a PQ and loaded it to the GPS, but I find there's massive duplication of entries. Is there aqny way I can weed out the duplicates? TIA Steve
