I can't seem to get Goggle Earth to work on my computer - it reboots the whole thing every time I open goggle earth. So my question is how do I upload a route so that I can get the caches? I have looked through the already established routes - didn't see the one I need. I have the route in mapquest but couldn't figure out how to save as a file. Help! thanks!

Remember to protect your dogs that hike with you from ticks also. We took our dog with us on several occasions last summer. He was not tick protected because prior to those 2 hikes, he never picked up ticks. Well - we took him and both times picked off many ticks - disgusting! But worse, he contracted lyme disease and died from it 3 months later. The vet swore that we didn't have lyme disease in our area but our dog sure picked it up and due to his breed (a shepherd mix) he did not respond to the antibiotics used to treat lyme disease. It was very sad and heartbreaking and I could have kicked myself for not getting a tick colllar for him or using front line - I just didn't think about it since he never picked up ticks in the past and this was just a little hike in a local nature preserve. Just now getting back into the spirit of geocaching - but don't know that I will go back to that preserve. Just a heads up - don't forget your canine companions!

OK - I used to have winzip but not anymore...don't know what happened to it but I downloaded 7 zip and was able to open and install cachemate on to my Palm (Tungsten E5) - I have GSAK on my PC so I should be all set - I am going to go read all about it and hopefully be ready to geocache tomorrow paperless! Thanks for the help!

I have been working for hours on trying to do this paperless geocaching. I installed gpx sonar on my desktop and it said that it hot synced to my palm but I can't find it on the palm. So I came to the forums and found this thread - I downloaded cachemate but now can't unzip it. I tried to hotsync it and it said it had no compatible files. My pc asks what program I want to unzip cachemate with? What is the answer to that? This is crazy confusing and taking forever.....any help would be great!!
