  1. I just went camping for 10 days and cached when we had time. I picked up a few TBs and left a few. Some were already grabbed out of my inventory by the time we got back. I wish people would give a little more time. I can understand the ones at the beginning of the trip but towards the end, it was only a few days. I suppose you could always post a note to the trackable stating what happened so that cachers will see it and know what happened.
  2. Here is signal the frog near Lafeyette Indiana. The start of the series is GC1M107
  3. I can't believe no-one has an opinion on this. Does anybody think this is a god or bad idea? It sure would help lot. I'm not sure this would ever go anywhere, but it would be nice to know others think it would be useful.
  4. I guess, when I tried to leave a reply I deleted the original. I will try to remember it all. I would love to be able to ignore specific trackables that are or have been missing. That way when you make a PQ looking for Trackables, the ones on your ignore list don't show up. If you goto a cache and you know the Trackable is not there you can ignore it. But if a new trackable shows up, the cache will then show up on your PQ. What do you think?
  5. During 2 different periods of time in my life I have had two different friends that out of the blue starting calling my wife and I the Aardvarks. Both friends told us that our last name sounded like Aardvark. At first I hated it, but then it kind of stuck and when we started caching we needed a name, and well, the rest is history.
  6. I have a PQ set up to do this. When you are setting up your PQ, down where the choices are find caches "That (and)" I haven't found I have found I don't own I own Are available to all users Are for members only Are not on my ignore list Are on my watch list Found in the last 7 days Have not been found Have Travel Bugs Updated in the last 7 days Is Not Active Is Active check the box next to "Have Travel Bugs" and then run the PQ
  7. Thank you all for your suggestions. I will start trying to clear some of these up. The Aardvark
  8. Is there a way to Ignore TBS and Geocoins? I like TBs & Gecoins, so I run PQs to find local caches that have them. Almost the entire first page is filled with caches that list coins or tbs, but when you read them they say no trackables or they have been in there for a year or 2 so you know they are not there. I know I could just ignore the cache, but then if a coin does get put in there I wont see it. I just want to ignore the coins or tbs that are MIA. If not, this sure would be a handy feature. Thanks.
  9. Last spring my wife had attended a parent/scout campout with our sons while I was away on an assignment. When they returned they talked about the older scouts teaching them about geocaching. I had heard about it and actually owned an old GPSr but never gave it much thought. Nothing came of it until June 3 last year. It was a sunday morning and my wife let me sleep in. When she woke me up, she asked if I wanted to go geocaching. I had to do a google search for the website and how to start. 2 weeks later my wife bought me aa GPSMAP 60Cx for Fathers Day. We have been hooked every since.
  10. I am going to be in the Tempe/Mesa area for a few days (6/12-6/16) and would like to get a few caches. I would like to get some that are more than just a park and grab. I will be with my nephew who is in a wheelchair. He is very athletic and willing to try just about anything. I am not sure if he will go caching with me or not. He may not have time. He is trying out for the USA Para Olympic Track team. If he qualifies he will participate in Beijing. Any input would be appreciated.
  11. Maxpedition I am using a Maxpedition Fatboy. I love it. There are add ons that allow me to keep my gps, mini-maglight and cell phone on the strap. They will hold a 1 qt water bottle, it has 1 large pockets and a few smaller and medium size pockets. My dad borowed it for a trip to Australia. He liked it so much I bought him 1 for Christmas. They are not cheap, but they will last forever.
  12. This may be a crazy question, but what # do you use for finds. If I goto my account/caches/found it page, the # is 114 If I look at my stats on the top of my account page, the # is 115 If you look at the number next to my name in any of the logs the # is 116 Now since my numbers are low, I know that I have found 114 caches and attended 2 events. When my numbers get higher and attend more events this will be harder to keep track of. Do you include attended events in your numbers?
  13. This has all been very frustrating. The day I beacme a member I was able to load and use MobiPocket right away. I have not been able to find any other combinations of software that I could use with my Palm & Mac. I have spent hours trying with no success. What are other Mac & Palm users using to load all the important info on there Palm????
  14. Because they become frustrated when the MobiPockets they come to rely on are no longer available.
  15. I have been using MobiPocket to send PQ's to my Palm from my Mac. Now that MobiPocket is no longer supported, what are other Mac users using?? I use Mac-caching to send info to my gps. I just need something for the Palm to do paperless caching. Most of the software I see is for PC only. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  16. This is sad, sad news. I was using MobiPocket to send my PQs from my mac to my palm. I use MacCaching to send them to my Garmen GPS60csx. What are my options for getting my PQs on my palm from a Mac?? I found Plucker and downloaded it to my Mac but it needs GPX Spinner, but that is only for pc's. Not sure what to do?? Help, PLEASE.
