  1. I see EarthCaches are not found often and some co's place them to make sure you don't understand them, so many don't bother looking at them when out doing a series. An example of this is a trad cache at the same location is found many times, but the EC is found few times . in my area there is a race to get FTF, but not on a Earthcahes i have seen in other regions earth caches neglected as just not worth the effort as the co's enjoys deleting incorrect logs rather than helping them gain more information, so to learn more. If a Ec was placed to find, without having to be on google trying to understand what the co mean's, it may be more fun, if i had an earth cache, i would like logs like this :- great location, the rock was wet and shiney, amazing shapes,. the water has created an unusual shape, its rough and so on - fun fun
  2. I am sure the reviewers know about there local caching police and where their arm chairs are located. same old issue, this is why a block feature would be useful to CO's
  3. have I missed something? there seem to be a few posts deleted ? this is one - [QUOTED POST REMOVED BY MODERATOR]
  4. I was wondering what the community thoughts are on claiming a FTF on a cache, but did not view the log sheet - could it be possible the log has been signed. but how do you know without viewing it ?
  5. I will let the community decide the log today just shows how the arm chair loggers enjoy disrespecting a CO to log this cache, you will have to walk past at least 3 or more caches until you get to this one, no matter what direction you take but none have been logged, it's in a woodland area, the nearest parking is at least half a mile
  6. We do have fun in my local area, everyone knows the rules and why go out caching with no pen , might be different in other area's, but in my area we place caches to be found and help others, that is why this game is fun I think as a co, if a cacher finds my caches on the same day and signs the logs and then they come to one that is DNF/missing, and they message me with the details I may allow them to log a find once I have checked the cache. if you find one cache and state 'found but no pen' then its a delete, lazy, cheating perhaps in other regions the higher the number of finds a person has, the less need to follow the correct process ? also to note - the no pen logs and photo attached is mainly by less than 100 finds on my caches
  7. This is what you have to do - its a write note other wise or don't log pleased they went back
  8. As a co with a few caches I seem to get found logs that state - found but no pen Why go geocaching and not have a pen as the rule states - to claim a find, you need to sign the log. Claiming a find with a photo is worthless and cheating or lazy. if the log is too wet to sign then a photo may be accepted. I don't understand how you can leave the house knowing you are going caching and not check if you have a pen/pencil or other item able to sign a log. but complain when your log is deleted.
  9. You should report the account to your local reviewer, also could be used to arm chair log NA/NM which is an issue in my region.
  10. i think when armchair logging is done, the reviewer knows who are the main cheaters, hopefully may not act straight away, i bet they roll the eyes, here we go again
  11. I do think its helpful when the community clean out the container and replace the log sheet and remove the junk, the next finder will be happy.
  12. https://coord.info/GC7B8DQ is it this correct the co has 8 hides and 4 archived, but has one ? https://project-gc.com/ProfileStats/pinkpigredrat#Hides
  13. What Irks me most? not having a block function on my caches and not banning arm chair logging
  14. to me this is not very many published, from the little knowledge of this, I know that a lot have been awarded to CO's no longer in this hobby and the community has keep the health of the caches going. Also I have seen some have been published only to see the stats show again they are not active but have placed one because they can? Hopefully this issue will be reviewed and given to active co's who have worked hard in placing caches to be found and maintained. one example I would like to mention I know of a cache that has had 8 dnf's by the same person on the same day, but found the next day, this must effect the CHS. so I think if the new criteria was used to only included active CO's this may be more useful
  15. Hopefully now, this will stop any unnecessary negative comments by finders
  16. Hopefully I won't get just a 'TFTC' after the time and effort spent on crating a puzzle, I feel that a CO deserves better and could be seen as a negative type of log, but I am sure the experienced puzzlers will tell me different ?
  17. if you run a search on Project GC 'Favourite Points Received' - how many of the top 5 in the North West got a Virtual? https://project-gc.com/TopHiders/FavGained?country=United+Kingdom&region=Northwest+England&submit=Filter
  18. I sort of agree, but I think having a checker would only help the arm chair logging situation, happy to post a solved note, but not go and find it.
  19. Puzzle is solved exactly how it would been solved. Moved or not it makes no difference to the puzzle
  20. thanks, my limited understanding was that you could move it, so to stop the next person passing on the final location and the reviewer does not need to know as the solution is the same, so say it is moved up or down by plus or minus 5 meters and as no hint, could be anyway in a woodland area
