  1. A last minute piccy of Sandra tackling the drifts on Crimea lane on our way to the Pole Moor Cache http://coord.info/GC1Y1M9
  2. As said the maps are still there, all you need to do is left click on the cache in the map at the bottom of the cache page and a box opens with view nearby caches... Thats the way i use as Just Roger way for some reason only shows the one cache sometimes
  3. Merry Crimbo to everyone...Hope he's fetched you all what you wanted....
  4. Been up to Lamb Knoll & Standing Stones GCZB0C to rescue PCPGEE magnetic geocoin as its been stuck in there for 13 months. Dunno why its been a year since anyone's done it as its a nice little walk on the moors with great views
  5. Shame me n Sandra cant be there but its M A Gs Into the Valley rally this weekend and i'm marshalling some of it. Maybe next time. Have a great weekend..i know i will
  6. My other half enjoys cacheing as much as i do ,it gets us out and about either drive by's on the bikes or out walking. Getting us out walking more was the reason we started cacheing. Drive by tour of Derbyshire...Sandra replacing the log
  7. We went walking around Rivington 4 weeks ago, luckily we had a memory map print out and clues as we gave up on the gps, even on open ground up on the hill the gps was all over the place Dave and Sandra
  8. Mine stays plugged in all day when i'm on the bike and with 4 2500 mah batteries in the extender it lasts all day with plenty power to spare. Out walking all day the PDA will last 4 hours on its own so usually plug in the extender to charge it whilst having lunch then will probs need pluging in later if it goes flat . Dave
  9. Bought it of ebay, just search for n35 battery extender Its basically a battery holder or 4AA batteries and an on/off switch, plugs into the bottom as usual. The only problem with it is the plug marked the wrong way up. Bought initially for powering the acer whilst on the bike
  10. We use an acer N35 with memory Map,buying this was the reason for starting in Geocaching. The battery life was a problem when we were out all day walking but bought a battery extender which helps no end,a strip of velcro helps attach it to the back. Sticking it it map pocket gets over the waterproofing and back up data before setting of as it crashes now and again, restoring only takes 2 mins
  11. Could be interested if i'm free on the weekend you are planning ie no rallies etc. Mid April to mid June is already booked up Will watch this thread
  12. We wander around in this with a pair of walking boots in the back for the walking caches And me on the Triumph or the TRX for drive by's or ones close to the road Winter camp to Dent Trx on the Round Britain Rally Sandra does drive by's on the 900 Hornet when the weathers decent
  13. I Use an Acer N35 which has an annoying habit of resetting itself when you switch it back on,only just started doing it in the last 3 months. Always back up now after adding something, eg waypoints as it decided to do this mid cacheing day out. luckilly i'd printed of everything i needed to complete the walk and the caches Didnt know you could do this at the time as i inherited of my son when he bought a new PDA which is how i became involved in geocacheing
  14. Do the odd cache on the bike if they are drive by or close to a road. The most recent is today after the Huddersfield MAGs winter camping weekend in Dent. It was the Waterfall cache just up the road from Dent ,needed to get rid of a coin i'd had for a while
