  1.

If you send me a message with your email address I will send you the profile directory that was sent to me from someone in the USA as it was not on this forum that I made contact with him. I will also provide you with a few notes on suggested procedure I used to make sure that nothing remained 'tainted' by any of the old profiles.

    Bill.

Thanks for the reply Bill, email sent!

  2. Check your e-mail for solution.

Is there a reason for not posting the solution here? I am in the same boat and would love to know the fix. I am having an issue with the GPSr powering off when I try and use the next stage feature on multi caches. I think my profiles might be corrupt.

    Thanks,

Yes, I'm sorry for not posting the final solution, but as the other poster said, it can be achieved by replacing the contents of the profile folder with 'virgin' profile files. Two people kindly sent me their files which I used successfully.

The 'Recreational' Profile will of course have been modified slightly as that is the default one used at the first boot of the GPSr. The other issue I ran into was that one person sent me files from the US which meant that my unit then had map datum settings for the US continent. This was easily changed when I realised.

    Bill.

If that is all it takes for the fix, I could really use a set of the US default profiles for the 62s. If anyone can help me out, that would be great.

  3. If you were smart and backed up your GPS when you got it, just replace your existing profiles with your back up. Or someone who backed it up could email you the orginal profiles.

Profiles are also a good think to back up regularly and before you do a firmware upgrade.

Profiles can get corrupt. It happened to me once and caused all kinds of problems.

I have never been accused of being smart :) Thanks for your email.

  5. I am having the same issue. I use Cacheberry and the time zone is set for Central and is the same on the GC.com site. I first checked to see if it was a Cacheberry issue, but learned it was a GC.com issue. It is a pain to have to change the date back when you are flying through your logs. Hope to see the fix soon!
