Thanks for the reply. The periods weren't my preference, that's just what appeared in the 'date placed' field when I selected the relevant date from the calender embedded in the software. I tried removing the periods but no joy. I can wait for the update and try again then though, not a problem.

Hi, I'm wondering if someone could kindly point out where I'm going wrong? This is my first attempt at hiding a geocache (or rather, registering one that I've recently hidden). I am in the process of filling in the 'Hide a Geocache' information fields, and all was going well until I attempted to enter the date it was hidden. It was hidden two days ago - on 4th November 2014 - and I'm using the pop-up calender within the 'date placed' field, highlighting that date, and it's then displaying in the field as "4.Nov.2014", which seems fine. But... but when I try to page forward to the next screen, I'm getting the error message "Please correct the following issues: Please enter a valid date.". So now I'm a bit stuck. How do I enter the date as 4th November 2014, if it won't accept the date as generated by its own calender thingummy? Am I doing something wrong? Any ideas appreciated. Cheers.
