  1. I have been getting this error quite a bit. For me, refreshing the page resolves the issue.
  2. Is benchmark hunting on geocaching going away? I noticed they seem to be quite hidden on the geocaching.com home page and don’t appear when searching for geocaches or on the app. Are they trying to not promote them? Thanks.
  3. I came across a few benchmark listings in my area that appear to be underground in the middle of busy intersections. How would you find these? Here is the description for this benchmark. "AT THE CENTER OF THE INTERSECTION OF GLADSTONE STREET AND LONE HILL AVENUE, AND IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST ABOUT 1 FOOT UNDER GROUND. ACCESS TO THE MARK IS THRU THE REMOVAL OF A MAN HOLE COVER MARKED COUNTY SURVEYOR MONUMENT."
  4. Well, I might still want others to be able to discover it, so if I mark it as missing I don't know if that will work.
  5. What does everyone do with travel bugs and geocoins that are in your possession, but are not physically in caches. For example, I have a geocoin from an event I went to. I will probably just keep this one as a keepsake. I activated it, and it now appears in my "inventory". Because of this I've now noticed that it appears in the list at the bottom of cache listings. So what does everyone else do with these items? I was thinking that there might be a way to make a "private" cache just for me that I could put all these items in when they are on my possession. Is there a way to do this, or any other comments? Thanks, Kevin (ComputerSnack)
  6. I've noticed that benchmarks are kind of "separate" from everything else on geocaching.com, so I guess that's why they are not included (yet). Your tool worked great. Thank you. I was a little surprised that the NGS waypoint names are exactly the same as on geocaching.com so that is great for recordkeeping. I loaded your file into GSAK and filtered to get the number down to 10 mile radisu, then loaded to CacheMate with no problems. Thanks.
  7. Is there any way to get a gpx file/pocket query for benchmarks? I would like to start finding them every now and again and wanted to set up my pda with them. I tried loc file, but it has very limited info. and no logs. Maybe it could be added as an option for the PQs? -Kevin
  8. I guess I like the idea of the GC being there, but it should work correctly in Internet Explorer.
  9. I've noticed that recently any place that there is a box to enter in a waypoint name GCXXX, it shows "GCXXXX" in the box, then when you click on it it just keeps the GC part there for you to enter the rest. This is okay, but for some reason on all the computers I have used so far, when I click on it, the cursor moves to BEFORE the "GC" part meaning I have to clear the box and retype anyway. Is this just me or is this a bug? Thanks, ComputerSnack (Kevin)
  10. I think there should be a way to add benchmarks to geocaching.com. I found a benchmark and it was not listed, and I decided to try to add it to Waymarking.com and did, however, It would be nicer to be able to do this on geocaching.com (so it would count towards the stats, etc.). -Kevin
  11. Hi, I picked up 2 travel bugs from caches. I gave them to a fellow geocacher to place in some other caches while they are on vacation in Northern California. How do I get these transfered to his profile, or do I have to log them in a cache first. Thanks, Kevin
  12. Okay thanks. I did not read anywhere about the rules about logging, so maybe that should be added to the FAQ.
  13. I noticed that if someone logs a cache, then at a later date finds the cache again (for example with a group of other geocachers) and logs it again, this adds another count to their find stats. I think that it is okay to log another find, but I don't think it should increase the stats. What do you think?
  14. I'm new to geocaching, and was wondering about elevation. I notice that it it not mentioned as part of the coordinates. When I enter the coordinated into my GPS, I've just been leaving the elevation as what it is. Does it matter?
