  1. I'm glad there are some of you who have great experience with Garmin. I personally have had hit or miss success with them over the years and have owned 2 Rino 120's and a Rino 130. I'm looking around here now trying to find a replacement for my Rino 130 and there is no way I would buy another Garmin.
  2. Thanks Embra, great review! I talked with Delorme today and asked about their street atlas software. The guy I talked with said that it would port directly to the PN-20 but thought I would be able to add the data sets to the Topo software and port it over that way. Have you had any experience with adding data sets that way? Does it work? Thanks!
  3. What GPS do you use and what issues have you had? I'm looking at upgrading from a Rino 130 to a DeLorme PN-20.
  4. Garmin's customer service is ok but I have had issues with them in the past over their MapSource product. I found this thread as I have had enough of crappy maps on my Garmin Rino 130 and am looking to upgrade. The Delorme PN-20 seems like a great replacement at first glance but i'm distressed to hear Delorme has upgrade issues. If you have more information please let us know
  5. Hey all, I did a search but didn't find anything so forgive me if this is a repeat. Is there (or has anyone figured out) a way to get a DeLorme Topo map into a Garmin Rino? I have uploaded MapSource maps and figure there has to be a way to get a Topo map into my unit. Ideas? Thanks,
  6. Thanks for the feedback everyone! I was afraid I wouldn't find a software that would d/l to my Rino but who knows. Perhaps Garmin will update their maps and/or the popularity of the GPS will bring additional companies into the market with downloadable maps. WolfinSTL
  7. Can someone suggest a good software? I would like something that has topo as well as hiking maps and campgrounds. Suggestions? I just purchased a Rino 120 as well as the Garmin TOPO and BlueChart software. The software bites and wasn't worth the 200+ I paid for it. The level of detail (yes, I updated the software, the dB, and turned on high detail) is worth $20 or so but not what they are asking. WolfinSTL
  8. Hey USMCSKI, I'll be happy to help but need a bit more information (feel free to e-mail me if you don't want to post it). 1. What operating system are you using on your computer? 2. Are you connecting the GPS in via Serial or USB? 3. Do you have any other things connected (MP3 players, external modems, UPS cable, etc.)? 4. Have you looked to see what comm ports are available on your computer (if Windows look under "Device Manager" then "Ports COM&LPT").
