  1. We are especially thrilled over the non new page thing for the encrypt/decrypt. That will save beaucous time. Also trying to patiently await the TB page corrections. We are not seeing any new logs on our TB page- the most recent showing is over a year old. We only have 2 of 5 TB's left floating out there and one of them is about to meet its first goal traveling from Oregon to Mickey's BackYard in Orlando. That only took 5000 miles of ground travel and nearly two years to get there! We are a bit energetic to spy on its little web page. Thanks for all the hard work and the quick fixes of all the unusual activity going on out there....
  2. Thanks for all the advice. Sounds like the craft store is my best bet for quickies. We are passing them out at an event we just published so we need them very quickly. I will check out the mentioned websites too. PS- I tried to google wooden nickel and got some sites for businesses to use them as advertising, etc. but thought if there was a specific place for "geocaching" ones I would rather hand my money to another cacher that made some then some corporation! Thanks again. -SD
  3. I am in a bit of a hurry and don't have a lot of time to search the forum to see if this discussion has already been had but I need some Wooden signature items for an event I am doing and need to get some ordered and sent to me quickly. Can anyone suggest to me where we can get 50-100 wooden nickles made and have them delivered to us by Oct 27th? Send private email if offering a company so we don't offend anyone with advertising. I can't seem to find anything with a quick search on the web- I know they are out there! We have many of other cachers wooden nickles..... Thank you!
  4. Maybe you should go "paperless" like the rest of us? I am not sure I know how to go "paperless" nor am I sure I have the technology for it. We can research this idea but I still don't care for the new structure of the map if it inlcudes found caches. Thanks for a new concept we will consider.
  5. From my perspective the maps aren't showing any less information than before. Zoom in far enough that the individual icons can be usefully displayed and the blue region disappears. Zoom out far enough that the blue region appears and you can actually see the map that was otherwise obliterated by mashed-together cache icons that were so dense it was hard to tell how many were in the area (or be mislead because only some of the cache icons were being displayed). Now you know within a pretty reasonable range how many are in the highly dense areas. Once our knees stop twitching wildly I am sure we'll learn to utilize the new information to make route planning more efficient, and map viewing more tolerable. As someone mentioned above, the blue regions should not include My Finds when I have that box un-checked. That is a significant bug. If I zoom in on an area that says there are 25+ caches, I want it to be 25+ caches I haven't found rather than suddenly showing only 3 of the 25+ because that's all that's left for me to find. I spend a fair amount of time copying and pasting from cache pages to word docs so I can get 4 or 5 and sometimes 6 caches on one page. I print maps that will show me a 6-10 mile radius so I can have them all on one sheet of paper. I do all this to save trees. I love trees. I don't like paper. All the paper cuts and all the shuffling from one map to another... not my cup of tea. I like that 100 caches will appear on one map in front of my eyes. And I write their little names in tiny little handwriting all over the map... and I put little stars on them when I finish them and I circle them when I don't find them. And sometimes I have to print a new page after a couple of months, which is what I intended to do today and well... I was crushed! I am adabtable but I thought forums were to give your honest opinion because we get to test all this stuff. Well, then I can settle for a button to turn it off. A back to the way it was button if you will. A time warp button. A help me I can't see the cache button! With all due respect, I have to stick with my earlier statement. -Kim of the group of SupperDiggers!
  6. Yep- it's terrible. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Horrid, wretched, unlogical, unorganized, pain in the.... Well anyway, the daylight hours ar short.... out to rely on the ole GPS to plan our route as our maps today are helping us none, nada, nil, zero, zilch .
  7. However, the maps generated from this site work for me: http://www.world66.com/myworld66/ This site worked for me! Thank you soooo much. Very cool.... hey did anyone read the article about 2 young men that were trapped on Mt Hood here in Oregon.... they found a geocache while they were on the phone with a sheriff who was trying to locate them- the search and rescue team found the 2 young men because they used the coordinates for a geo cache! Wow!!!! Geocaching saves lives!!!
  8. I once saw one of those querie U.S. maps on a person's travel bug page that showed what states the bug had been in.... does anyone know how I can get that on my TB page?

  10. If you're copying the TB# from the coin's page, that would be the problem. That number is an identifier and not how trackables are logged. The actual tracking number is on the coin itself. It should be a 6-character alpha numeric begining with 2 letters. This above solved my problem. I was trying to use the TB tracking number and did not see the number imprinted on the coin itself. The item has been logged properly now. Thank you so much for all your efforts!
  11. It is a gold rectangle coin that is the shape of a one dollar bill and it says "one cache" on it. The coin has been logged in for over a year- it has been sitting at the location I retrieved it from for about a month. I seem to be the first person having a problem with entering in the "retrieve"
  12. I have cut and pasted the Tracking number from the website; I have entered manually using I's and 1's (although it is clearly a 1) I have emailed the owner and the owner is of no use since the object has travelled 1600 miles and this seems to be the first time anyone has had trouble entering it in. This is not the first tracking item I have done so I know my actions have worked before. Can't seem to get any help from geocaching website. If I can't get it figured out I guess I will just return it from where I retrieved it from so it is still in the same location the website thinks it is in? I just thought maybe this had happened to someone before and they were given the proper steps to fix the problem? If it helps any it is a gold rectangle coin that is in the shape of a one dollar bill and it says "One cache" instead of "One dollar"
  13. I am trying to enter in a "retrieve" on a geocoin and it is giving me a message that says "no match" when I enter in the correct Tracking number Anyone know how I can get this logged properly so I can move it along? Thanks!
