I appear to have lost my Axim x50 this weekend while hiking to a cache. I still have no idea how as I had it in the same pocket it's been in for 3 years. Annoying, but Palm PDAs are relatively cheap.
I've done some software and hardware testing before (not GPS, though) and I've pre-ordered a T500. I'm looking forward to it, and I'll be certain to share my initial impressions. And, even if it sucks, lesson learned, and get something else.
I used to truly despise rechargeable AAs, but since I've changed to a proper charger (electronic instead of timed), I pretty much use nothing else anymore. When I'm out caching, I'll bring a spare set with me just in case, and when I get home I just charge the old set back up. It's just not a big deal anymore.
I decided to go ahead and pre-order a T500. It simply intrigues me. I'm not looking forward to waiting, but my eMap (about time I upgraded!) will get me through until then.
So, I went out to Oregon (from Indiana) for a few days visiting family. I was looking forward to doing some caching in a place that was more or less unfamiliar to me (both in Portland, and at the coast), and what happened? I ended up getting sick and knocked out of commission for almost the entire trip, so I couldn't do a thing. Even a DNF would've been better than this!
From the SR-71 Blackbird, the world's greatest aircraft. I'm a speed freak, and this is pretty much the ultimate. The rest is from my last name. If you see this nick anywhere, it's probably me.
