  1. Annoyingly I only discovered geocaching in 2014 after having travelled to many countries on holiday, particularly USA and Canada. If only I had started caching earlier, I would have probably had at 12-15 US states on my countries list by now!! We do enjoy going on cruises and I usually manage to get one or two caches in each place we stop at, so can easily add a few more countries during each holiday.
  2. That happened to one of my TBs. Somebody posted the code on Instagram without my knowledge so I'm getting countless 'discovered' logs. I've had to add a note to the TB's description page in various languages saying that all 'discovered on internet' logs will be deleted which has reduced the number of logs a bit but I still get them.
  3. Hi all, is there anyway to create a signature which will automatically be added when logging a cache on Groundspeak? Maybe it's not possible but I thought I'd ask! Thanks.
  4. Same here. I wonder if we'll get a partial refund on our Premium Membership? (Won't be holding my breath...!!)
  5. They were missing from the list in "Geocaches" but I have now discovered they are on the map. After a lot of twiddling and resetting I think I've fixed it but I'm not really sure how...!!! Many thanks for the advice though! :-)
  6. My "Show Found"/"Recent Finds" icon seems to have disappeared, but I don't know if this is anything to do with the missing caches!
  7. Hi everyone, I'm not sure whether my problem is similar to what others have had, but here goes.... I'm planning a series of 25 caches in a loop tomorrow and I have successfully downloaded all 25 on to my Etrex 30, (I can see all 25 listed when I plug it into my laptop via the USB cable - see attached screenshot). However, when I switch the Etrex on, 7 are missing and the other 17 are there. I've deleted everything and started again, but the same 7 caches are missing. Any ideas please? Thanks.
  8. That's great, thank you - I knew there should be a straightforward way of doing this! Cheers!
  9. I wish to re-release some of my TBs which have been lost/marked missing for some time. I have created copy TBs with the same trackable code, but when I edit the TB's profile page, the only options are 'Move to Last Location', 'Recalculate Distance' or 'Lock'. I'm sure it must be possible to release a copy of a previously missing TB (I'm sure I have previously found someone else's copy TB in the past). Any suggestions? Thanks!!
  10. Many thanks to Sherminator18 - the html has worked! Thanks also for everyone's help, good to know there is always someone who knows the answer on this forum!!
  11. I have the Haunted Hide souvenir after finding a cache on 29 October 2016 and I added the Haunted Hide badge on my profile. Unfortunately I deleted the badge by mistake and wish to reinstate it. I no longer have the email which had the link for entering the password. Can anyone advise please? Many thanks!
  12. Okay, thanks. I followed these instructions and all I get on the cache page is a little box with squiggles in. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
  13. I'm creating a new cache and I want to add a photo to the main page. I have done this before but for the life of me I can't remember how I did it !!! Can somebody please explain this? (which I'm sure is really easy when you know how...!) Many thanks!
  14. I think I have solved my original problem without an SD card, for the time being at least! Now I just download the .GPX files to my laptop, then copy them across to my Etrex 30 in one go, rather than downloading each cache individually to it. So far this seems to have worked so fingers crossed! Thanks for everyone's advice and Happy Caching.....
  15. Many thanks for this info. I haven't been using a SD card but sounds like I should get myself one and hopefully solve my problem! I shall keep you posted with how I get on.... Thanks again.
  16. Hi all, I have been using my Garmin Etrex 30 for about two years now, simply by downloading caches as .GPX files from the Geocaching map page via a USB cable. This has always suited me fine as I can plan a particular route or individual caches I want to do in advance. However, I've noticed a few times I've got out into the field, my Garmin doesn't recognise the caches that have been downloaded. For example, this morning I downloaded three caches (which were close together) on to the Garmin, and 30 minutes later I'm out at GZ for the first one ready to search. The Garmin tells me there's no caches there. When I get home and try to download the caches again, the Garmin tells me that the file already exists and do I want to replace it? So the files are definitely there but just won't show when I need them to. Just to clarify, this only happens sometimes so I don't know if it is an intermittent fault with the Garmin, or whether there's something obvious that I can do to avoid wasting my valuable caching time....!! Thanks in advance!
  17. That's what I thought but wanted to double check, many thanks!! Now just have to wait and hope for the best.....
  18. Apologies in advance if the answer to this question is else where, I've read through some of the forum and picked up a few tips about missing TBs. One of my TBs is now missing from a cache it was placed in six months ago, and a recent cacher's log has confirmed that my TB is not there. I have now marked the TB as 'Unknown Location' as 'Mark Item Missing' was not an option in the drop-down menu. What is the difference, if any, between 'Unknown Location' and 'Missing'? I'm hoping that my TB will reappear sometime and if (when?) it does, can the finder still log it as being found and/or drop it off somewhere if the TB is marked as 'Unknown Location' or 'Missing'? I'm assuming it can be but just wanted to confirm this! Sorry if this is a dumb question and of course I shall be whooping with joy if it turns up....!!!
  19. Success at last!! Within a couple of days of sending a friendly reminder to move my TB on, the person replied with an apology and said he had forgotten he had it. He's now dropped it off so happy days.....!!
  20. Just a query... one of my trackables was retrieved by a cacher three months ago and hasn't logged it all since then, not even as a 'visit'. There's even a label on the TB 'Please Do Not Keep, Move On Soon'. What is a reasonable amount of time before contacting the cacher to gently remind them to move the TB on? I don't want to be pushy!!! Thanks!
  21. Interesting topic and shows how far and wide we all are! I live close to London Gatwick Airport (LGW), hence my name!
  22. Yes, that's worked!! Been out walking off some Christmas festivities and collected a few more caches today. Pleased to say that my 'closest to home' log has now updated itself. Many thanks!
