  1. After some more research I found a thread from back in 2006 where people were having the same problem. The problem was fixed when Garmin released ver 2.6 of the firmware. Further reading revealed that the problem returned in version 2.7. Figuring I had nothing to loose I downgraded to version 2.6 from my currently installed version 3.0 and the problem has gone away. I was within a few feet on every cache all day long. I didn't try any other versions but thanks to 2.6 I can trust my old legend again.
  2. Thanks for the responses. The yellow etrex is NOT a H model it is a firmware version 3.2. It is the hardware revision that was done years ago to include WAAS capability. I've got the newest firmware for it but "if it ain't broke don't fix it" I did the full reset on the CX a few time but never tried the "new location" thing so I'll give it a shot. Thanks again.
  3. I've got a Legend CX that I purchased new back in 2007. It has the newest firmware installed. we took about 2 years off. When we recently started caching again I seem to have a problem: When we go caching we have 3 GPS receivers the afore mentioned Legend, a yellow standard etrex (waas enabled) and a Legend HCX. The HCX and the standard Etrex will agree on GZ within a few feet of each other and the cache consistently but the Legend CX is always 30 to 35 feet different I've done the factory reset on it twice with no perceived change. Any Ideas?
  4. I use Cachewolf and GPSman on Linux. No wine required. In my opinion GPSman is equivalent to EasyGPS. Cachewolf handles everything else and can use GPSbabel to replace GPSman if you'd like a more intergrated solution.
