  1. Thanks for the heads up.. I looked for other threads on it but I guess I didn't look hard enough. Apparently there's a problem with new PQs, as described in the Web Site Forum thread PQs are not currently generating. People are able to get around the problem for the moment by re-using old PQs, if they happen to have any available.
  2. It seems none of my pocket queries are running.. I've never had an issue before but created a couple last night and they just say "never" for the last time run.. Day of week is right, etc..
  3. I've got an unactivated new Templar coin for sale...
  4. EVERYONE!!!! YOU MUST USE THIS SOFTWARE IF YOU USE THE TILT. I JUST FOUND IT! and.. it's FREE.. It gives you coords inthe right format, tracks sats, EVERYTHING you need to geocache with the tilt and it's working perfectly on mine... Just download the cab, config to com 4 / 9600 and connect.. Takes a few to aquire but after that you are in!! http://www.visualgps.net/VisualGPSce/default.htm Let me know what you think!!!
  5. I use the tilt.. It is slow to update at times.. My real complaint though is the lat/long only displays to full seconds.
  6. I was wondering why my profile wasn't showing up.. I'm speaking of the pretty graphics and map, etc that shows where you've been, stats, etc.. I'm a premium member but new.. Does it activate after I log a certain amount of caches?
  7. Yep around 75 feet but I have had no problems finding caches even in dense vegitation. I'm sure I'll invest in another handheld but I'm looking for what is right for me.. The phone works well, and it's maps are very nice but of course I'm more interest in lat/long when I'm geocaching.. I suppose having a unit that supports Geocaching would be nice however. Any suggestions on a unit?
  8. Actually, I strand corrected, it looks like DDD MM SS.SSS is what I'm looking for minus the .SSS.. Now.. Is there any way to set that as a preference for default so when I download GPX files it's what shows up in the file?
  9. Because most GPS's don't use that format as a default. look on the cache page you will see this somewhere below the posted coords. N 39° 36.318 W 105° 01.304 other conversions... Click on the link "other conversions..." you will go to a page that has a lot of information about alternate formats including this: Normal GPS Coordinates (WGS84 Datum) Decimal 39.6053 -105.02173 DDD MM.MMM N 39° 36.318 W 105° 01.304 DDD MM SS.SSS N 39° 36' 19.0800" W 105° 1' 18.2388" That should make it easier for you. That page will change for each cache you look at. when you click the link it will always show the current cache page conversion in the 3 formats. You can also input your own coordinates on there and it will do the conversion for you. If you were to input your example N 33° 03.340 W 096° 44.099 and press change waypoint. It would give you: Normal GPS Coordinates (WGS84 Datum) Decimal 33.05567 -96.73498 DDD MM.MMM N 33° 03.340 W 096° 44.099 DDD MM SS.SSS N 33° 3' 20.4012" W 96° 44' 05.9388" Thanks.. I have checked the other formats but none seem to match what google spits out, which is what looks like my phone displays.. I guess I just have to keep converting using google maps.
  10. I have a Tile GPS enabled phone which works great for Geocaching.. However, I have to do a few things to make it easy which I'll detail below.. My question lies in how Geocaching provides the lat/long information and why I need to do what I do below.. Alright.. I'll take an example cache and use it's coords to explain. Geocaching.com spits out N 33° 03.340 W 096° 44.099 I have to take those coords and dump them in maps.google.com which spits out an altered set of coords that look like this: +33° 3' 20.40", -96° 44' 5.94 Now.. My Unit's readout only displays the first three so it looks like this: 33° 3' 20", -96° 44' 5 This gets me close enough and I've had no problem finding caches but I was wondering why Geocaching.com does not spit out something like the google coords above.. I understand that my GPS Unit probably just truncates the last number which is fine but if I followed the coords on Geocaching.com without getting the conversion from google, I'd be way off the mark.. I discovered this by trial and error by using a cache I'd found by accident and going to it, comparing what I saw on my phone with differt conversions on geocaching and then finally figuring out the google coords that got converted and displayed on the left after you enter coords from Geocaching worked fine... Anyway, any thoughts?
