  1. and also different levels... we have one near us... the local water is level 1 (To protect the wetland birds) the woods around it are level two, because they screen the level one as above... under GC rules both apply at an equal level.. just for info...
  2. Or there are some issues over one or two and do you hold up the release of all the rest whilst you sort out the last couple... I didn't on ours... Max
  3. Def float  , I'd say, and the NA still stands... and will be acted on if the cache isn't sorted. Many cachers use a sock account to post NA's for exactly this reason ... maybe a thought for the future <_<
  4. 100 miles for 15 caches? I went that distance for my first cache as it was the only one within 100 miles! Happy days indeed and great to see so many of my old caching friends on this thread being a rare visitor now. 154 miles round trip for one of yours this week... :D Bit like old times... and work paid for the transport.. M
  5. We can add our "I attended the Event Skladiste/SouthBohemian GeoMeeting" TBJTZP. current milage 60931.5. Regards MaxKim.
  6. We had the opposite.. one of our caches in the lake district, hidden in the roots of a tree went missing. It turned out that a finder had re-hidden it in the dry stone wall behind the tree... You just can't win... Back where it belongs now with a big note on the cache page re the wall.
  7. I work around the country and the ones away from home are usually near to those areas, London, Chester, Norwich etc. The ones abroad have local people who maintain them for us. The local ones are all on running routes. The hardest bit is keeping tabs on what needs what where. I have a weekly PQ of my owned and needs maintenance tag but it never seems to work properly.... M
  8. We have 167 caches currently active.... two of which are adopted if I remember right... :roll eyes: If the number on the profile is to be trusted....
  9. Also renew logs prior to the event, most of mine had 100+ hits per day over the event... also if you have several caches out stand by for the hundreds of email notifications which will come your way... Re Harrogate I still get the odd one... and as Chris says be ready for the post event maintenance which will be needed. All that said it is a great experience for all concerned and we intend to add a couple of new caches in the area. Regards Max
  10. A missed event... LOL. take care the both of you... things aint what they used to be... Best Regards MaxKim.
  11. Welcome back to sunny Blighty... and your break from English cache setters... Cheers MaxKim.
  12. DING for pit pony... took a lot longer at our local pub quiz... :)
  13. oops... sorry... you answer and never expect to be right... LOL. What is the largest underground land mammal in the UK. Quite rare nowadays.. ? <_<
  14. I did think I made it clear at the start. This is an expensive cache container which has been deliberately stolen and is, I am sure, nothing to do with muggles. MaxKim.
  15. And I don't in any way blame the last genuine finders.... this is someone who has got there since and nicked it...
  16. I have recently put out a special magnetic bolt cache... the latest log reports the log being left on the wall but someone has pinched the mag bolt.... the gits... They must be cachers... both to find it and to take it but leave the log.... and in the NW as well... M
  17. Could be Spain... there were around at the time... or France... M
  18. It always clashes with Scout Camp (which we run) Sorry to miss it but huge congrats on going MEGA... Cheers MaxKim :D
  19. Not sure if I've missed something here, how do you put the GC number etc. on a magnetic nano? if you can't does that mean no more nanos / out of the box hides (bolts, magnetic signs etc.) in urban areas?
  20. Speaking to Groundspeak's Bryan via Skype the other day, that wasn't the impression I was left with. That's good news...
  21. Had a very positive meeting today with Insp. Griffiths at Wetherby Police Station. Since the incident everyone at the station is now aware of our hobby and I understand the original reaction to caching in the area from the police has mellowed somewhat. I have offered to provide a briefing document for West Yorkshire Police on Geocaching with links to the main caching websites. The intention is that on receiving a report of a suspicious package one line of enquiry will be to check online to see if there is a cache located at the spot. We realise this isn't foolproof but it may reduce the number of future false alarms and is better than a file of paper documents / cache page printouts in a cupboard somewhere.
  22. Looks like they will just be in the USA then
