  1. Thanks Team Roberson. Thread now closed!
  2. The question you have to ask yourself is: How will you feel once you've found it with the metal detector? Imagine the satisfaction of finding it and NOT using a metal detector! Compare that to how you would feel if it was really easy with one... ...then again, some caches drive you so crazy just finding the darn thing is a relief however you do it!
  3. I live in Southampton, England, and I am looking for a fellow cacher that could help me complete the following locationless cache. I've never tried a locationless cache before, but this one looks like a bit of fun! Sisters Locationless Cache Reply here and I'll check back in a few days! Happy New Year, America!
  4. That is UNBELIEVABLE! Just when I think I've seen it all... From now on if anyone approaches a US webcam cache and sees a pile of dead geocachers, I'll know which cache I'm at! ..I wonder if a less fatal version could be invented however for geocaching...something where you need people at both ends of the phone line to complete the cache....hmm, need to think about that... ...then again, I guess that's what you need for any webcam cache!
  5. Woo hoo! We're not last in August! 51st out of 58! That's a record for us...won't happen again for a while...
  6. Our stats are entered..been out there a little more in August than usual...but probably still last!
  7. Excellent! Well done! One ton would be nice...
  8. Excellent! Well done! Double ton? One would be nice...
  9. We cannot enter the competition in the UK, though, can we? If we can, I'm off "Jeep hunting"!
  10. Sigh...like this isn't hard enough already... Honestly, though, some different containers from the usual ammo/lunchbox caches would certainly spice things up. The few that I have done have been very amusing, and memorable for that reason.
  11. You know, we need to stop welcoming people and start warning them... ...this is not a hobby, it's an ADDICTION. It's not a game, it's an OBSESSION. Run now, while there's still time...it's too late for us, go on without us. (This is what happens when I post messages when I'm tired!) Welcome
  12. Just thought I'd add my 2 pence worth... ...I did not initially become a premium member at first, as I was unsure of what this whole jaunt was about. Having done a few, a found a local MO cache on the site (now archived). I was intrigued to find out what it was, and so paid up... ...I was glad to hear that people are discussing making some caches MO, as I have actually yet to find one! I am happy to pay up the small amount every month if it keeps things going, but the idea of having some which are for those who do pay seems perfectly reasonable to me. Glad to see that you have done so, Joan. I fully support it. I also like the idea of making some initially members-only and then changing them after a set time, or after set number of finds.
  13. Let's face it, Motley Crew. Everywhere is North of us... ...except the IOW... ...and some parts of Cornwall... D'OH
  14. Congratulations! I am so dumb. It took me at least 3 replies before I got it...maybe I shouldn't be admitting that. Our Southampton 'cache' will be arriving in a few months too...not sure what type of cache it will be yet. We decided not to ask.
  15. Very good! Reminds me of my French A level listening exam though...I understood about 20% of that, too!
  16. Admittedly, I have only found 50 or so over my time (a few years), but I have only seen two groups of geocachers...One was Bracken's Bunch as we both were looking for "Golden Lions". The other got me thinking... ...we had been to find "Be Prepared" and after we had, we spotted a family looking suspicious. You know the thing, standing around in a bracken-covered wasteland, then diving into bushes. We watched for a little while, and after they had found it I went bounding up to them to say hello...only to find this was their first ever cache, and they probably thought you got accosted at every one! I went back today to the cache page to see who they were and what ever happened to them, whether I really had put them off for life. It turns out it was Pyoung1s! Any one else spot other geocachers?
  17. Just thought I'd add today's incident here for your amusement...
  18. This would be a hugely useful resource! It gets my vote!
  19. Well done...If I had done what you have done I would double my overall cache count! An interesting read, too...
  20. My cache is Hamble Ramble in Hampshire. It's been there a while, and had 61 finds...the problem was the 62nd. It got found by a geomuggle, and then thrown in a nearby bush. Fortunately, nothing was taken, including the most prized possession: the log book! I disabled the cache and brought the box home. What now? Do I a) rehide in the same spot (seems a little foolhardy) hide nearby and then edit the coordinates c) archive this spot and start a brand new cache in the same region, giving local cachers a brand new challenge! Let me know what you think. I bow to your greater, collective experience and wisdom
  21. To be perfectly honest with you, I was going to be one of those people and not register my stats for July, until Deego very kindly sent me an email inviting me to. I am by no means perfect and never want to be... and at least if I'm at the bottom, the only way is up!!! Us too! Thanks for the reminder, Deego
