  1. I was remarking to my son just this am that fanny packs are coming back.
  2. When I first started GC and discovered this forum, I was 71. Today I am 78 and more interested in the sport now. Living in the suburbs of San Francisco, I have to be careful about where I walk. A lot of two-legged nasties out there but, along with my GPS, I carry a stout walking stick and the Bowie knife I carried in Vietnam. My wife has a few health issues so I cannot stray too far from her. I am basically just searching within 10 miles from home.
  3. Thanks. I guess I wiwll carry both...batteries, you know?
  4. Starting back up. I have a good GPS but I also have a iPhone. Do the apps for the iPhone serve a purpose?
  5. Another vote for the 64S, great unit. +1 Yep. DITTO I just received my 64ST. It comes with 250,000 caches already installed.
  6. I think finding all of the benchmarks that are associated with the "Center" of a state would be neat. When I was riding motorcycles when I was younger (60-65) (I am 70 now) we rode to the Geographical Center of California. It is ust east of Madera, California in North Fork (No, not where the Rifleman was filmed). It is on a Indian Reservation:
  7. They have some very strong magnets at Home Depot but just about any hardware/crafts store will have them. Sometimes you can get a bunch 30+ for a few dollars.
