  1. That's a good suggestion. I volunteer to watch Mt. Zion - pending finding it on Saturday. I think I will do that this weekend instead, it fits into my schedule better. On the other hand, I don't think we should pressure Mrs. B to keep on cachin' if she doesn't want to (not that anyone neccesarily has been). Nolenator is right, this is a silly game. Once the game isn't fun there is no reason to keep playing. If she decides to come back in the future, great, but it should be up to her.
  2. I'll take your one on Mt. Zion. Even though I haven't found it yet...
  3. Mrs. Bs and I have talked it over and she said she still plans on holding an event cache in November in honor of my upcoming calf, so there is still a chance to meet her, CW.
  4. Yep. Wilderness Areas have alienated mountain bikers by not allowing biking in those areas. Go ahead and alienate cachers by forbidding geocaching. Then alienate hunters. Then alienate dog and stock owners. Then put restriction on camping. Then wonder why there is no public support to keep and add to designated Wilderness Areas.
  5. Mrs. Bs. - Hold off on going up to Mt. Townsend to grab that food if it's a pain. I may get up there this weekend at long last. And you know what, don't worry too much if I don't. A wrapped Power Bar shouldn't attract any animals. Leave a note on the cache page - right on the page not in the posting section - for the next person to grab it out and they probably will.
  6. I'm thinking about using that picture, only without so many fingers exteneded.
  7. Place your order... or you may have to wait until the next minting.
  8. I hate to use other's "bad" behavior to justify my own, but I'll do it anyway. If I thought the M10B geocoin that I have would be moved like a TB, I'd release it tomorrow. However, it would just end up on someone else's mantel, and I walked 9 miles in the rain to get my hands on it. Besides, I collect sig items, and that is the mother of all sig items.
  9. Also, Ft. Clatsop National Memorial becoming Lewis and Clark National Memorial and is expanding to sites in Washington as well as expanding in size in Oregon. It looked like spome of the areas may have previously been state administered areas that would be geocaching friendly.
  10. Look here. That'll be next year for me at earliest.
  11. I second that. Silver Geocoin, ha? Hmm... I wonder if my legs will feel like hiking again next weekend after what I put them through Saturday.
  12. I should add that I had to use my GPS for navigation. There's a novel use, hah? Right away I got off track looking for an easier way up the boulder field and realized I had no idea where I was. Luckily, I had Moun10Bikes track and followed it back to Crossover 1 until I could see the posts again.
  13. travisl's log is a hoot. I also thought of Frodo and Sam trenching up Mt. Doom. My friend Jarod got preached to by the same Christians while waiting at the start of the climbing route.
  14. Mt. St. Helens Cache Machine () was a success. It rained hard from about 6PM the 10th until about 4AM the 11th. Then it stopped and didn't rain the whole day! Had a lot of wind and clouds blowing in and out, but we got "above the clouds" and saw Rainier, Adams, and Hood and had a good view into the crater. Some of us made it further than others. I made it to the top after giving up with about 1/3 mile to go. Shunra spotted me on the way down and demanded I turn around and go up with him, cold hands, sore ankles or any other excuse. Thanks Shunra, it was worth it. It was good meeting everyone that I met for the first time today, and Nolenator, always good seeing you, despite missing your kite flying at the rim.
  15. Also, anyone who I am holding a permit for and is not at the camp when I leave, I will place permits in a plastic bag and clip it under my windshield wipers. I don't really worry about anyone taking them at the camp. It's pretty remote. I will try to park the car out of the way. My car is a red Nissan Xterra, plate 975-RUX.
  16. VERY IMPORTANT: Each person climbing must sign in and sign out of the register near Jack's. THIS IS A SEPERATE ISSUE FROM THE PERMITS!! Follow the link in the initial post of this thread for more information.
  17. OK, 1. Nolenator 2. Bonch 3. CFM 4. Shunra 5. Tolmaus C-ya there. Hope to see you lottery folks, too.
  18. OK: Here's who I have for permits: 1. Nolenator 2. Shunra 3. tolmaus 4. CFM 5. OPEN!!! (Bonch?) I plan on having foot on trail at 7AM, because I am slow and want 12 hrs of daylight. I'll be on FRS 2 for anyone who wants to catch up. Anyone not sure if they'll be at the trailhead before that who I'll have a permit for, let me know and we'll make arrangments.
  19. OK, still one permit available. I'll go back and check with people one at a time to see who gets it.
  20. We just had another permit become available. Jeremy, check your PMs.
