  1. Too bad this one is only kid friendly. Chewie sure would enjoy the buffet.
  2. I'll let Sop99er handle the "kid friendly" question, as I really don't know what he has in mind as far as "lusty tales." However I did want to add two things: 1. A link to the cache page. 2. One of the prizes for W7WT's contest will be an uncirculated, unactivated 2004 Washington State Geocoin. This might be your last chance to get one!
  3. Maybe I'll get up there on Sunday. Got any specific suggestions?
  4. I'm excited to make my first cache machine. Chewie and I are there. The wife and calf will be out of town. We've already booked at the La Quinta in Wenatchee. I was going to camp, but a hot tub sounded good.
  5. They were a life saver, especially since she was born at 1:35 AM.
  6. Thanks everyone. She is named after her two late gread-grandmothers. Figured the two living ones would actually get to hold her, so it was more than a fair trade. Just swinging by the forums between trips to the hospital and back. Since so many cachers were at the geo-shower, I felt I needed to let this community know as soon as I could. Now back to the hospital for the night. Can't wait to take her on her first hunt.
  7. I'm dredging up this old thread to tell you that the long awaited calf is here. A lot of you have been asking me where the heck s/he was. She got here at 1:35 AM this morning. Pictures and deteails here.
  8. Funny. I can read things like Science, Nature, and the American Journal of Biochemistry without feeling like the authors are condescending and holier-than-thou. That attitude doesn't have much to do with being "academic."
  9. Seems like the same kind of condescending, holier-than-thou trash that I've been reading for ahwile on CP to me. I think Briansnat is right. He's probably reveling in the attention he's getting from annoying us peasants. Just ignore him. Edit: Me know write English good sometimes.
  10. That's a 180 from Groundspeak's position when we wanted to do that for the 2004 coins.
  11. Yeah, I love when I run into those people that think they own the trails. They usually sniff at my dog, I can't imagine what they'd think if they knew what I was doing with that GPSr in my hand.
  12. Maybe you should give Jo Frost a call.
  13. Works for me. Check your Personal Messages (the forum ones), Shop99er.
  14. Well, as long as this thread is open, does anyone have one they'd like to swap for an unactivated Washington geocoin? PM me.
  15. Yeah, I'm planning on heading over to Wenatchee that day, too.
  16. Fantastic point.... I know the company I work for is kind of protective of their logo, and they are way less high profile than the ones in question.
  17. 1) St. Helens However the people with the talent in design want to do it.
  18. I guess my point is if there is going to be a cache there anyway, why not let him say, "That's YUM! HQ over there. KFC has always been here.... The original KFC oven is there..." I'd like that more than grabbing a micro and missing out on where I was. The logos might be a bit much. That's up to Groundspeak, I suppose.
  19. Hmm... I've already found a lot of caches on NFS land.
  20. I wouldn't worry about the size of the group. We had a big "group" at St. Helens- 16 or so - but we all ended up in groups of 2 or 3 that went their own speed. (Or in my case most of the way up, a group of one). I anticipate it would go that way at Adams too. I just don't want to be alone again. I wasn't too concerened at St. Helens because there were tons of people around. Hope your knee feels better. I look forward to Muir too.
  21. OK, I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but I thought of it as I was walking past Groundspeak's lawyer's office (or whatever the whois address is) today: How is the cache in question any different in spirit from this particular cache that I have on my to do list. Yeah, I know. Who pays the bills for this website isn't a small matter, but if I was passing through Louisville and doing some caching, I think I'd be glad to learn about the business history of the city, especially since I'm familiar (too familiar) with the product.
  22. I'm going to have a hard enough time without lugging casebooks up there. I'm going to try my hardest to make it work somehow.
  23. I thought we were leaning toward the weekend before that. Did you mean that the July 30-31 weekend is out so you can spend the time studying? I was thinking about that weekend of August 6, but I can't do that, obviously.. If a group goes that last weekend in July I might be able to come. I guess I won't know until I see how much studying I need to do.... Pfft... Stupid school. Between it and work there is a serious dent in my leisure time.
  24. Just found out my final is on August 6, so that blows that weekend for me. I may have to take some time off of work and do it mid-week.
  25. Then there should be a rattlesnake there coiled at the hiker's feet. I got scared off from that cache and the cache across I-90 from it by those little SOBs.
