  1. The more numbers the better. I'm not nor will i ever be a professional geocacher. I just enjoy doing it when i can. I can not agree with the logic of restricting access to numbers as a way of controlling competitve people. Competitve people will always find ways to play competitivly and that is fine. it isn't like i'm being tackled because i'm walking and they are running to caches. Clements Cacher I do agree with those that say, If it wasn't about some numbers gc.com would only be a cache listing site and not have logging functionality.
  2. geocoins, a bike, or an ipod. use the visor till you drop it or it dies... then you know you need a new one. Clements Cacher
  3. I've found all the caches are handy within my local area. Since then i've found fewer and fewer caches, but have enjoyed revisiting found caches to get and move TBs. I also placed two new caches. (winter has had some effect too) I really wish there was a rating system becasue there are many times i'm looking for an adventure and only get park'n'cache quicky. So for me... It isn't about the #'s it is more about the distance i need to travel to the cache and the innovation of the person that placed it. Clements Cacher
  4. I'd pay out to several places. I would be more motivated to P2P if you charged $5 and the "winner" gets $50ish and then the rest of the cash was given to the next few places. But then again, sometimes i lack the drive to feel like i must be #1. Another Idea... Make your first really cool cache free, but include a piggy bank letting others know that thier donations will be funding your next super cache. Not sure how much you could get, but it may be worth a try. Clements Cacher
  5. keep us informed. e-mail sent. Clements Cacher -only thing that would have been better is to have had him wearing some WWJD thing while saying that.
  6. In my area (30mile radius from my zip) I have 101 caches, and there are currently only 4 travel bugs among those. If i ever find a Bug hotel, I'll read the tags and take all the bugs that are going in the direction i'm headed. If i've planned ahead i'll be dropping off bug(s) that are headed the other way. Rules are only as good as their ability to govern. What can a prison guard do to me if I break his rules? If the problem is as bad as you make it out to be, it may be time to call for a nationwide TB Jail-break. Took: 5 bugs headed west Left: 5 good trade items Clements Cacher
  7. I've got 2 SporTraks and 1 SporTrak Map. one SporTrak has 6 cracks one SporTrak has 2 cracks SporTrak Map has 0 cracks I'll have to give them a call and see what they say. Clements Cacher
  8. BTW, the "sun" is real. the boob, probably isn't. Knowing she is a Jackson; it has probably been adjusted many times. Clements Cacher
  9. The problem could also be that you might be running a "Pop-up Stopper". I had a friend with a similar problem and he forgot that he was killing all pop-ups. I have zonealarm and have had 0 problems. I'd doubt that is your problem. Clements Cacher
  10. I'm with 9 key and carleenp on this one. I find stats interesting and so I would like to have more of them. Like 9 key and carleenp , I also like some sports stats. I don't feel that the existence of additional stats will tend to make people more competetive. People are going to be competitive or not by nature without the existence of some additional stats. On the other hand, it may lead to off-site "Fantasy Cacher" leagues. They would draft cachers, create a team, and hope their cachers preform well that season. That is all cool, and only a new dimension for someone to get involved in our sport, but I would fear the sports betting would soon follow. The guys in vegas might start putting out the odds sheet for all kinds of stuff. So... I'm in favor of ALL stats being avalible unless they are leading to an underground bookie betting system. Clements Cacher
  11. This comes down to the fact that there is an error/loophole in the "New" geocache notification. How the admins want to go about correcting the problem is completely up to them. I think it is a website issue that should be addressed and fixed in some manner. Clements Cacher
  12. I logged a cache at 12:01am 1-1-04 (USA central time). I figured starting the new year well was more important than finishing 2003. Can't log the find on the website tho cause it is a "members only" cache. Was kinda fun being the first to find when i couldn't even get the coordinates. (BTW: i'm not saying i'm that good, just knew the area) clements cacher. Surely someone had a late Dec 31 cache....
  13. Can't believe someone would be ripped off by meeting other cachers. Batman family, Please work on communication skills (i wouldn't address all of a group if even one is 200yrds away). Realize that we geocache for FUN :-) Next time try to handle your problems in private before making such pointing accusations in a public place. if your over this and want to move on then delete the thread. :-) Clements Cacher
  14. Total distance travelled: 38225.36 mile(s) very neat idea. I took it and logged it here, then sent it to Iraq, and then back to Strategic Air Command virtual cache :-) congrats on the miles! Clements Cacher
  15. Minolta Dimage X the 2 or 3.2 megapixel models are both great. My dad has the 3.2 and a friend has the 2. The biggest advantage is the size and duribility. When my friend bought his the guy at the store picked up the display model and threw it 10ft against a wall, then picked it up and took his pic. my m8 said the camera looked good as new, and the guy said he throws it against the wall almost everyday.
  16. Hint: when seeking this cache don't spend too much time looking at your GPSr, and no... they are not firing blanks. Took: WMDs, geocaches Left: Hole in the sand, spent shell casings, crushed buildings, 1 helicopter, 1 drone, several tanks, and a new regime.
  17. I had the pleasure of introducing two local officers to geocaching. Took about 45 minutes. I had to tell them all about it, let them frisk me, sit in the back of a cop car while they searched my car, then had to sit and talk with officer #1 while officer #2 when to find the cache. Then I got a warning for not having a front license plate "Well, we found gloves and a flashlight. Vandals would carry these items, but we do understand that if you were doing what you say you were doing you might also want to have them..." It was Feb. in Nebraska, little after midnight, and less than 32 degrees out! I kept caching thinking "ok" next cache will be normal. well after 3 abnormal caches i called it a night. Clements Cacher
  18. "Think Horace Greeley from the bridge." well, needed to know what side of the creek to go on (east or west). i added the coords to a terra server map to get my own clue :-/ guess it is probably a good clue, but it is beyond me. -Tom BTW: tisawtsew
  19. Yahoo doesn't like you to host images on their server and then link to them on other webpages. What he needs to do is put the pics on to one page in his geocities account and then post a link to that page. not the .jpg :-) then we can see his stuff. i can't wait Tom
  20. Put it back up pls! or tell us why it is down. Clements Cacher
  21. Is there a reason you cannot drop two travel bugs into a cache without logging two finds? clements cacher
  22. http://gps.algebra.com/ not sure how accurate, but will get close. very simple. -Tom
