  1. We made our camping reservation as soon as we possibly could in order to nab a grass-rich site for the Taj MaTent. Then the cache page was published and we learn we won't be allowed to pitch a tent on the grass. There just might have to be a bocce tournament at site 241.
  2. The DNR will now happily accept your camping reservation!
  3. Next month, we're driving from Indiana to DC. We don't usually park and grab much, but this is an exception. We want to get a couple WV caches just so we can say we did but we don't want to make a major production out of it. Can anyone suggest a good spot to jump off the interstate and quickly seek a few caches without getting our shoes dirty? Man, I sound pathetic. It's a sickness...
  4. We're gonna try this Rent-A-Cabin thing. We took "Walk-In 5".
  5. Oooh - this might be the excuse we need to finally get the Big Yellow Chair!
  6. FALSE - Well, we've been to a camping event that *included* the middle of the night but I didn't actually have to be awake for that part. I'm just too old for that. The next cacher still hasn't used a travel bug tag that was purchased over a year ago.
  7. Looks like we'll be hangin' on the corner with Morgue and Hoppy Family. Big Monkey has reserved campsite #69.
  8. Hey, this isn't too far off! With the beautiful weather we had yesterday, I'm ready to go! For what it's worth, we tried to reserve a site for just Saturday and were requred to add Sunday or Friday. So we'll also be Friday to Sunday. Jeni, I think we're on your other flank, campsite-wise, so we have a decent start to Cachers Row. I don't remember what our tent looks like. I think it's been like three years or something since we've camped. I'm sure it's lovely. I'm not at all sure we have all the parts or know where it is. "We" includes my 7-year-old caching partner and my thinks-we're-slightly-nuts wife.
  9. Thanks, folks. I had this exact question yesterday. Just took the minute and a half required to follow the instructions above and now I'm good until April 29, 2009.
  10. We have exactly the same GPSr. While it's true that the unit doesn't know which way you're facing unless you're moving, be aware that there is a small "sun" icon on the compass view -- so if you can see your shadow, you have another way to orient yourself.
