  1. I found coin #27. Took it to work to see the Giant Eagle but it was pouring rain and it is not the best picture. Ayway...what a great contest idea. Thanks Mr. Jiffy!
  2. I am still waiting for one item to come in the mail. As soon as it arrives I will put it in the box with the other stuff and it will be on it's way across the pond. Sorry it is taking soooooo long!
  3. I received my package in the mail on Friday. Not sure if I should open it since I haven't sent mine yet (still waiting for a few more things to arrive) but heck the suspense killed me and I opened it. Bob was my sender and he did some research! no, there was no horse in the package but I am not sure Delanco could handle being a two horse town anyway! He even enclosed a few things for my daughter that made her day! Thanks bob for the great coins and for the great scout stuff, the jersey pound, the mints (don't they have sugar in England?? ) and the stuff for Shelby too! I will be sending my package out this week and although it is tough to find anything a one horse town and a 4 century old town with castles has in common I think I am doing ok! This mission was fun thanks for organizing it!
  4. You have to figure out the "orienteering puzzle" to spell out his name...super clever!
  5. I found an unactivated one in a cache. They are sweet!
  6. Highlight a recent Eagle Scout project done by the Troop
  7. I would like to nominate SJG SOUTH JERSEY GEOCACHERS "The Home of South Jersey's Best Cachers & Stashers" The South Jersey Geocaching Organization exists to promote the sport of geocaching within Southern New Jersey. We are a group of active geocachers who use the resources of the South Jersey Geocaching Organization to socialize with other members, work cooperatively with land managers on our members' behalf and to promote responsible geocaching within our membership in our area. We invite all geocachers living, actively caching or interested in geocaching in Southern New Jersey to join us (Membership is free!) This site provides a structured setting for members to interact with one another. We have forums, polls, chat and an event calendar to help keep our members abreast of what's happening around our area. South Jersey Geocaching exists as a community effort. The administration of this site is a responsibility shared by several Coordinators. Multiple Coordinators keep this club running smoothly by keeping this club from having to depend on one individual in order to function. Sub-committees or ad hoc committees are formed with volunteer members when necessary to carry out different tasks. SJG is extremely grateful to these individuals who work behind the scenes in conjunction with the Coordinators to get things accomplished. The group also has a "Cache of the Month", a Holiday Party, Group Outings and Events as well as educational outreach to other organizations, collections for Toys for Tots and the Cape May Zoo, CITO events & roadtrips. I have only recently become involved with this group (less than a year) and have had so much fun and met so many wonderful people! There is no better group of geocachers out there!!!!
  8. My daughter is Type 1 and has been for about 4 years. She is 13 and caches with us just about every weekend. The length of our trip usually decides what we need to bring but she always has a glucometer, a jr. juicy juicy (15 carbs) and a granola bar type snack. I carry a tube of glucose incase she bottoms out. SHe is on a pump which makes it easier to make adjustments for the extra exercise but she has been as low as 28 and still walking down the trail! She no longer feels lows and we have to take note of changes in her behavior or "look" (mom's will know what I mean!). If nothing ese, please wear a medic-alert bracelet so that if something does happen on the trail a passerby may be able to help! To the person who askd if his girlfriend could still bike 80 miles...absolutely! Just have her tell her nurse what she is planning and they will help her make adjustments in her insulin for the increased exercise
  9. Okay, I'll bite. If you don't like it you can toss it back LOVE IT! THANKS so much. This is way cooler than anything I could have managed!!!!!
  10. broken stuff, i hate finding broken stuff! i would replace each broken item with a decent item for the next cacher
  11. Our name is "rozecki" there are 5 of us. Rozecki is Polish for rose so we would like a rose and I am Irish so maybe a shamrock or some other type of irish symbol. We live in NJ and we use a garmin GPSMAP60cs. We make a lot of puzzle caches. Other than we are open to anything that pops into your head. Thanks! It is very cool of you to offer to fo this for people
  12. I just bought my first four travel bugs (yeah!) I want to give two to my brother as a gift but when I went to activate the first one, my user name came up in the box automatically. Do I activate all the bugs then just give them to him or do I give them to him and he can change the owner name when he activates them? Sorry if this is a silly question but we've never done this before and I couldn't find the question asked already. Thanks for your help!
  13. Thank you! worked like a charm!
  14. I have somehow managed to created about 25 bookmark lists, all named the same and empty. Now that I actually want to make a bookmark list, I can't because I am over my limit. How do I get rid of these empty bookmark lists?
  15. This sounds like a cool feature but I must be missing something. I followed the directions for using Google Earth. I entered my start and stop point created the map and right clicked to save as "my route". I saved it as a .kml file. Then I go to geocaching page and when I try to upload my saved file nothing happens. I never get a "preview" option. What am I missing? Sorry if this has already been covered I searched and searched the forum for the topic first
  16. Congrats to Tom, Sherry, Emily & Candie of tsemclarney for getting 100 in their first month!
  17. Take along a friend! Four eyes (or six or eight) are always better than two!
  18. Great suggestions. I will add my $0.02. Start with the closest to your home that isn't a micro or a multi, something in an area you are very familiar with. Look at the coordinates in google maps and zoom down to street level. Once you are sure you know where it is go and get it! Once you get one under your belt you'll be hooked
