If they were cachers, presumably they 'logged' their find! -
The All New All New Groundspeak UK Pub Quiz

Ooops -
Just wondering whether one is better than the other. Fugawi seems to be (slghtly) cheaper and to have more world-wide coverage (and is compatible with more 3rd party maps). It is also Palm-friendly. I have used memory map and have found it to be very easy to use. What does eveyone think?

The things you find while caching...

Being a good cacher, I'm sure that you CITOed it! -
Good spot, are these the official lock n lock ones do you know? According to She Who Must Be Obeyed, they are the real deal.
-
QVC are currently running lots of offers on Lock 'n Lock boxes.

Umm, sorry to be a pain but how does this relate to the topic? The link is about facebook But is not, in all fairness, related to the original question. -

Wouldn't you HAVE to leave a note to drop it? As I understand it, the OP was asking whether or not he should log a return visit to drop off/pick up a TB as a find or whether there was another option...
-
In these circumstances I use the 'write note' log feature to record my visit and the TB drop/pick up.
-
As long as the listing clearly and explicitly states that the cache requires climbing skill/experience and equipment, and that a lack of these will result in injury, death or (Gulp!) worse, I don't see why/how people would have a basis to complain. There appear to be loads of these 'true' 5* caches in the US...

Just a quick note to report that 'little g' TB has been liberated from GCWVV2 'Metal' after seven months in residence. Happy new year!
-
We'll probably try for a couple ofgentle caches in the Forest of Dean.
-
For people you have added as friends, yes. For other cachers in general, no.

Other than to say that I was born a geek, was raised as a geek and will die a geek I don't really try (although I have been known to say its a bit like orienteering without the Kagool and with Snickers rather than Marathons...). Instead, if someone asks what its all about and they seem to be genuinely interested, the Mrs and I just take them caching. Sometimes the bug bites , sometimes it doesn't

Ebay selling drilled Scottish Geocoin (Cont.)
Von-Horst replied to Bambi&Thumper's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
I think you are straying off the subject........ Not really. You stated that you feel that the value of a Geocoin is inconsequential. I merely took the opportunity to call your bluff and ask you back up your opinion. You also decided to have a dig at those who have expressed concern and anger over the fact that someone knowingly sold a stolen geocoin even though the owner offered (as I understand it) to pay for its return but I don't really know how to respond to that without being told off by the moderators. -

Looking at the buyer's feedback it looks like he/she bought it becuase it is a shiny and pretty thing with Celtic swirls on it, presumably for use as a keyring. -

The same way that someone who takes your car from a car park is stealing it . Just because an item is not actually physically in your possesion does not stop you having legal title (ownership) of that item. -
Ordered a copy today from Amazon.de (not sure what kind of shipping but it was quite cheap for German postal rates) so I will let everyone know what its like once it arrives. Mike

Many thanks Scott - it looks like I'll be brushing up my German before I go on holiday to Spain! Mike

Hi, Does anyone know if you can get Garmin topo maps for Majorca? Thanks, Mike
-
In an urban setting that will be fine (GPSrs do not work very well in built-up areas), but you will miss out on so much of the hobby (such as the joy of hunting hollow tree stumps in the woods) without a GPS. Also, I do not think that you will be able to do many/any multicaches or puzzle caches using Google maps... Before you return your GPSr, please, please give it a try in its natural environment - the great outdoors!
