  1. So it sound like I could list a meeting(get together) a month or so before the Expo as an Event Cache to talk over ideas for the Geocaching booth at the youth expo. Would this be OK?
  2. A group of outdoor organizations are having their 2nd annual outdoor youth expo this June. This expo is for kids of all ages and the event had over 229 kids attend last year. They got to fish for trout, shoot a bow and arrow, build a bluebird house, shoot a BB gun, learn to tie flies, and many other activities. It is a free event. The kids even get free food. I would like to have a booth to introduce kids(and their parents) to Geocaching. I want to list it as an event cache to try to get some local Geocachers to help. My question is it appropriate to list it as an Event Cache? Thanks.
  3. What I carry depends where the cache is located in an urban area where I can get close to a cache with my vehicle I just carry the GPSr,a compass, and a pen and some trade items in my pocket. On more rural hikes of a 1/2 mile or more I have a small daypack with water, snacks, TP, maps, GPSr, camera, cell phone binoculars, flashlight, compass, extra batteries, bug spray, first aid kit, matches, space blanket an assortment of swag, my rubber stamp and ink pad. I also have extra pens and pencils some extra plastic bags, and some duct tape. I also may carry a rain poncho or handwarmers depending on the season. On a longer day hike I may take a penny stove with fuel and a pot to heat some water for a small meal or coffee or tea. Certain items are added or taken out, as a cache decription maybe there is a lake or stream nearby I will add a fishing rod and gear to do some fishing. The idea is to customize your pack to each hike. Over time you get rid of some items and add new ones. Thats some of the fun.
  4. Here is a pic of a tree near my home by Vernooy Falls in the Catskill Mountains of New York.
  5. When I saw the ads between the caches last night I was upset. The ads on the top or side of the page are fine with me but the ads between listings are annoying. The ads on the side of the page are fine and I use them. So this is a big no to the ads between the listings. TrailsEndTom
