  1. Darn! I wanted to post the "I'm the youngest" reply. Well, I just got into this whole thing like three days ago. Officially I am not yet a geocacher since I have yet to go out and find something. I plan to this week. I am 5230 divided by 261.5 years old. I guess I got all of you beat... wait... K never mind I'm only twenty. I remember I was in a small room with peach colored walls, two windows, very uncorfortable chairs and desks, with an over-head projector... there was thirty other people in the room with me. Some mean old vegetarian, neat-freak, workaholic, underpaid, overworked, old lady was at the front of the room blabbing away about something about a president when I heard the name Kennedy, and the word "assassinated". Oh I remember! I was at still at the brainwashing facility that I escaped out of! Ahh the memories... MTV used to play music?? Really? Nah, I dont believe you. Hold on I'm watching this show on MTV where all these people that obviously dont get along live with each other for a few months and.... -=The Foods=- RaViN's Mexican Pizza -=The Foods=- RaViN ChIpOtLe http://thefoods.freeservers.com [This message was edited by Ravin2001 on February 16, 2003 at 02:30 AM.]
  2. Yeah, I'll hold on to the idea for a while and work out the kinks. Meanwhile, I'll also work on getting some finds under my belt. This would of course be my first cache and I want it to be worth remembering, and a challenge. That's what this is about right? challenge? I really don't think the ask the employee thing is very commercial. They don't know what we're up to, I'm not promoting, you don't have to pay anything. I was thinking about it today, and yes I would have to put alternatives to going anywhere with bussiness hours for those of you that like to "flashlight cache". My third place involved a post office, some counting and a little bit of arithmatic. That would need an alternative also. The airport: It's a public ramp, it's been there as long as I can remember, and yes the code is free to give out to anyone that has any business there. It's a class Delta airport, not too stringent on security. No you would not get shot at odd hours of the night. I've been there at 2 in the morning, to watch some planes, and had no problems. You dont even have to far past the gate. The gate is there I believe mainly because of the area the airport is in. If the gate wasnt there graffiti would definately be a problem. I'm pretty sure geocachers are not the criminal type, and it would be safe to give them the code. If not I could think of an alternative for this part. However then there would be no point to the first four points. It would totally make the adventure less adventourous<--dont think I spelled that right did I?. -=The Foods=- RaViN's Mexican Pizza -=The Foods=- RaViN ChIpOtLe http://thefoods.freeservers.com
  3. Okay okay, i get you guy's point... Besides I'm not sure what I would put in the cache anyways. Oh, and talking to these people would get you a number that you would use later on, the theatre is open 365 days a year, and its information that the theatre wants its employees to know... therefore every employee knows this number. Let me explain the whole theatre thing: I am a projectionist, I threaded and started the very first movie at this theatre when it opened (a year and a half ago). I thought it would be cool to include part of the adventure to go inside. Pacific theatres has this thing where it teaches its employees 5 practices to good community building. I thought it might be a good idea to have people quiz employees out of the blue. I was thinking about trying to have people ask how many practices there was, or what they were or something. Then with the next three clues get the numbers to a four digit code to open a gate that leads to a public ramp at the airport I fly out of. Emphasis on PUBLIC ramp. From there get the model of a seemingly abandoned cessna about 100 feet past the gate (152), divide or add or something this number by some constant that I gave.. Which would give missing coordinates to the cache. -=The Foods=- RaViN's Mexican Pizza -=The Foods=- RaViN ChIpOtLe http://thefoods.freeservers.com
  4. *Ditto* I don't really think it being very commercial... However, I'll wait for some more replies before I start setting up my cache. -=The Foods=- RaViN's Mexican Pizza -=The Foods=- RaViN ChIpOtLe
  5. I want to create a cache where the first coordinates lead to a second and third... so on Im thinking about 6 diff. waypoints, each has a clue to finding the final point. Also it involves interactions with people and things. For example at the starting point I would have the hunter go inside a movie theatre and ask the employees a question (they won't mind). All the clues would be in public places, urban mostly. Would this be a good idea? And how far should they be? Because what I'm thinking so far, the points are about 2 mi. apart each... is that too far? I'm thinking about calling it "Drive around town" -=The Foods=- RaViN's Mexican Pizza -=The Foods=- RaViN ChIpOtLe
