  1. I kind of like the "getting out and going to meetings or events" idea! Goldfishy, you sound like a fish out of the water. Keep flapping around, girlfriend. Someone will save ya!
  2. Interesting. Well, I tried combining a geo-muggle love and geocaching. But, I don't believe that worked. *sigh* I do know that happiness can be found on the trails!
  3. I second those nominations! I nominate myself to be a member. Looking forward to future news!
  4. Hey everyone! I just sent Stosh a reply to his e-mail about the club and found this discussion. It looks like '96 Olympic-Volunteer & Siggy and myself are interested in joining! Thanks for inviting us, Stosh. Even though we are a little south, we wouldn't mind heading north for a good time! It would be good to see all of you again. I'm not sure about Jan. 24 for '96 Olympic-Volunteer, but I can sure try to come and perhaps bring Siggy along. I gave Stosh some ideas and he can post them if he wishes. I'll keep an eye out for any further developments. Tenalley
  5. Here you go! Winners Release, Team Stats and Photo Album. http://www.cityofathenstn.com/Geocaching.htm We sent the release to the Daily Post Athenian to put the information and a picture in the paper. You might be able to keep an eye out for the article if you get the paper or go to their website. (Perhaps the Lifestyles Section.) Just not sure if or when they will put it in. http://www.dpa.xtn.net/ Tenalley
  6. Registration is now closed for the event. Stay tuned for an update on how it went!
  7. Well, many have asked for it and now it has been made possible! The event consists of an information session on Geocaching, a gathering during lunch and a geocaching contest within Athens city-limits. I want to thank JoGPS for coming out and helping us. He will be the guest speaker during the info session. Meet the man with over 2,000 logged caches! So, take a look at the following link, post a note if you wish, mark your calendar for Saturday, October 25, form a Geocaching Team or come alone, and be sure to pre-register through the Parks and Recreation office! Depending on the interest, there may be limited space! Happy Caching! Tenalley http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=cc6bfc99-8f22-4500-b1b9-d890f4df346b
  8. my my my! Had no idea I would cause so many questions to come up. I studied the rules carefully and understand that there could be different interpretations, but Oscar's Express was "physically placed" in the caches and then taken out. Proof lies in the pictures at each cache and the log books. In fact, there were several times I had to check back in my bag to make sure I picked him back up before leaving the cache area. Being "placed" in the cache does not have a specific time period associated with it as far as I could tell. Whether it be 30 minutes or 24 hours. (will defer to the judges) Oscar visited all the beautiful areas and had a wonderful trip so far. (the object of geocaching!) May Oscar's and all other travel bugs' journey be traffic jam and detour free!
