  1. Very nice cointest We cannot forget to tell " I love you" lately thanks to our 3 year son, who comes in the morning or when I come home after work and says " I want a hug! I love you with all my heart" He always wants a hug when he misses someone or he just wants you to help him with something. It is so hard to tell when these little kids really love you so much or just want you to give them something or play with them But anyway it is very cute and he reminds us to tell each other - I love you! Thanks for the cointest - I wish you all the best
  2. Warning : I did check the ebay listing mlrs1996 was trying to win and it was a bit misleading In the part it says : Bulgarian geocoin AS is sold out. You can still buy the AS,AG and PS version on the original site that produces the coins ( the same site that gives 4 of the geocoins awards mentioned in the first post). I just wanted to keep you informed, because this is the best way to prevent some bad experience while trying to get a geocoin for you. BTW: One of the geocoins reached it's destination in Europe. This is a good sign - if all geocoins are delivered without problems, there will me more awards for the second draw
  3. Why on ebay ? You needed some of the limited versions or it was a good deal? Can you provide a link to the listing on ebay?
  4. Not exactly new cointest, may be 1 new award, but It depends on something in the future. I will post news in this thread.
  5. The lucky winners are: opalsns nils-Olov scificollector velrahkoon I wish I could give at least 3 more coins to people with answers I liked, but I have only these 4 now and I promised to be selected by random events out of my control However, I hope that I can send some little gifts in the future to people that did very good work in this cointest. Thanks to all participants and I hope to have more cointests in the future
  6. I already know the people with correct answers, so I will list them in case somebody has any arguments Later I will publish explanations, but now I will list only brief list of correct answers ( just for reference). These are the answers I considered correct: Cyrillic, Glagolitic (Glagolitza), Proto-bulgarian alphabets Tomorrow, my 3 year old son will draw 4 lucky names out of a bowl There is the list of participants with correct answers(alphabetical order): 501_Gang Ashallond Carbon Hunter CaseyScogin Dark Elf daveindeal Firefly03 fossillady FScout GATOULIS GoldBugGirl IMRedeemed Jackalgirl kini_ont luckycharmer Maine Family mar-elendili mattfamily mlrs1996 MomsPlace nils-Olov Opalsns PaRacers pingos QuigleyJones Roaring_Fork scificollector sterni2009 sunsetmeadowlark SYOTT teamhaynes velrahnkoon
  7. 1) Start discovering new things and designing devices rather than fixing other people's bad designs and hating my job 2) Finally start eating less, going to fitness and hiking ( not staying at home all the time posting in forums) 3) Finally find time to finish my electronic high-tech solar powered caches 4) make a cache that is super mystery and fun at the same time 5) release a second geocoin before people give up asking me to do it 6) Long term : find a home in the forest or mountains where I can live peaceful life 7) Almost impossible: Find a job or business that is fun, profitable, stable and not stressful 8) Absolutely impossible : live long , be healthy and young forever and become attractive to women Good idea for a cointest. New year is always the time I try to start new life and forget about bad habits. But finally realize that I have lost anther year and I'm old and unsuccessful . The worst part is I know it is my fault - I'm too lazy! It would be so good if I could blame others BTW: The coin is very beautiful and I'm sure kids love it
  8. Only few hours left for answers(until end of day pacific time). This is your last chance - I will start working on results tomorrow.

  10. @GATOULIS: I'm not sure about the new and old calendar ( the church knows about it - so they say when the holidays are). We had Christmas on 25 Dec and I know other Orthodox have Christmas on 6 Jan. So we are with Catholics on Christmas and with Orthodox on Easter I know it is strange, but do not care , because we just have to check with official Bulgarian church calendar for religious holidays. @All : this is the last day for the cointest - there will be no more extensions.
  11. Wrong guess about the reasons for extending the contest Try with superstition and the fact that I'm postponing my travel back home for 1 day I will not be able to work on the results until tomorrow, so why not give 1 more day for answers and make it happy 7 days
  12. I decided to extend the cointest to exactly 7 days. So you can send answers on Saturday also. The cointest ends midnight pacific time.
  13. I hope I find some time to create a coin based on some similar embrodery or carpet pattern. Not the same, because this one is probably protected by some copyright ( they list it as Bulgarian folklor pattern, but they sell it some way I'm sure it would look grate, but I will need a lot of time to work on the art and I'm not an artist
  14. No , I'm not married, but you can find pictures of traditional bulgarian weddings in google images. I like the traditional costumes (click here for female costumes ) They vary in different parts of the country, but are generally rich in complex embrodery and accessories. I will try to find some inf if you are interested. There is a link with information for folk art Bulgarian folk art I had the ideas to release a geocoin with the best patterns used in embrodery and traditional carpets which are really amazing. There is only one sample I found on Internet
  15. @Opalsns : in fact the symbols in the center of the rosette are not the alphabet symbols ( my mistake I did not write about it - these symbols are probably for the Sun God Tangra) - the symbols I have in mind are on the 7 rays. The alphabet I'm asking for has most of the symbols shared with 2 other popular alphabets, but these on the rosette make the difference. I will accept a second guess for people that think the first post was misleading. BTW: 1 day left for answers. Happy New Year
  16. Hint: Not elvish runes, no connection with LOTR. The symbols on the Pliska Rosette are authentic ancient symbols, not invented for a book/story. But definitely used for magic rituals, although not very clear what exactly do they mean. The answer is easy, you need to name an alphabet used by hundreds of millions. However less popular than LOTR
  17. Only 3 days left to send you answer, do not miss the chance for a completely FREE unactivated geocoin. I'm very happy about many correct answers until now and the deep dig in history records:) but you can still send some more ....
  18. I see many and interesting answers. I noticed many correct answers with various details(not always correct), which means many people are using other sources besides Wikipedia. It also appears that some sources being correct about the alphabet and some historical facts, also include not scientifically correct or misleading information in the details. So, please, include also the source of your information if possible ( not mandatory for the cointest, but would be interesting to me) Thank you for so many messages I received and waiting for new ones
  19. I'm very happy about the interest and answers until now. I found more people than expected know history or made some research in Google or Wikipedia. I'm sure a will have much more answers before the deadline. And I hope this cointest is fun:) @GATOULIS: Thanks for the wishes. I'm glad our neighbours know so much about common history and beyond - the part that is specific for Slavic culture Merry Christmas !
  20. Bulgarian Mystic Geocoin Cointest 4 Bulgarian Mystic Geocoins will be sent to randomly selected participants with correct answers submitted before the end of the First day of year 2010. There is the question: Some of the symbols on the geocoin are unique for an alphabet. What is the alphabet name, where and when it was first used? EDIT : Please, do not be afraid to send answers even if not sure - this cointest is made for fun and a bit of internet research . Since there are 3 closely related alphabets some of them known with 2 names, I will consider as correct more answers ( not only absolute correct ones), so more people will have the chance for a geocoin. I will post a message with the winners after all valid answers are processed ( it depends on the number of replies) I will send the coins worlwide using Registered Airmail service(tracked but not insured). You can send answers in private message (if you dont't want others to see your correct answer ) All 4 geocoin awards are provided by Geocoinshop.de - more pictures are available in the geocoin shop site (Antique Gold). Awards are Antique Silver and Antique Gold. Note: If something about the rules is unclear(due to my bad English), please, feel free to ask questions.I will try to answer ASAP. <storefront link removed by moderator>
  21. As Crowesfeat30 wrote, there are 5 versions, and as a designer of this coin I can add something about versions and may be some other time about history:) First about new versions - I will possibly release a new special version until end of this year - I will tell you in advance so you could have a chance to buy one this time . The Black Nickel and two tone versions are limited and were immediately sold out. Unfortunately, I don't have any left for trade also. If you want some you can try to ask in this forum as well in the Bulgarian Geocaching forum. This project started as the First Bulgarian Geocoin and therefore no information was published or preorders made outside of Bulgaria(so part of the LE geocoins are here and were never sold online). I did expect some coins to be sold in Europe, but I was happy to find that many of them are ordered from USA, where geocaching is so popular.
  22. Thank you all. I posted this question just to check if there is a standard procedure for this, like a web tool that sends your question to the right groups of reviewers. But, since there is no such way I will try to contact the reviewers that have approved my previous caches.

  24. I have a cache I submited last Monday and it is still waiting for review. I did not see any reviewer notes or other problems. I checked everything - it is checked for review and waiting in the queue. And I know a fellow geocacher that has the same problem - his cache is waiting even more. May be the reviwers are too busy lately, but they could leave at least a note they know about the report, but we have to wait for a while. Is there anybody who can help with advice on what to do ?
