  1. im an x-dhl driver and he doesnt need it insured only cuz the package reached, received, and was signed for at it's destination. He's all good. They gotta find it or send him a new one.
  2. fixed and washed my mouth out with soap. my apologies.
  3. Generate your GPX file on your PC. Copy that GPX file to [drive]:\Garmin\GPX Disconnect the unit from your computer. Turn it on. Your caches will be there. Thanks Don. Actually they were showing up as waypoints. After 3 hours of going nuts, i have figured it out. GC.com..... click on the cache and it has a button to press "send to garmin" and walah!! It sends it to the Colorado along with all the info and comments. Not only that, but they fall right into the "Geocache" part of the Colorado. Finally!! It's so simple. I dont have to deal with EasyGPS or any other 3rd party. Its all there in one click.
  4. Ps. there's a double same subject thread. i want to say i had nothing to do with it. i only posted one thread. honest.
  5. I have no idea what im doing with my Colorado. Also, when i plug in my 400t its recognized as a mass storage device if anything (has the garmin connected to a pc picture on screen). Whats my point? i forgot. i still cant load caches from gc.com. guess i have to read the manual. ughh. how do i load caches to my 400t? seems EasyGPS doesnt send them cuz when i press "send to device", nothing is there when turning on my colorado under geocaches. im confused.
  6. I just purchased a new Garmin product. Ive been a member of geocaching.com for a while now and had downgraded to basic due to winter non-activity on my part. I bought a new Garmin Colorado and with that Im given a free upgrade for a month. I just followed all the instruction (product registered, plug in installed, etc.) but my basic membership hasnt been updated to Premium. Anyone know whats going on? thanks. update: I just went ahead and purchased via paypal. fui.
  7. i really doubt it. you must update to the latest version. You'll be thankful. I have a Garmin 60cx and have hte Colorado 400t and i really like the bright screen the 400t has. Are you sure you turned up the backlight? (press power button and use the knob to turn up the brightness). Also, recheargeable batteries lose their capacity as they age. Its always best to buy new batteries for a new product you will be using a lot. If you put rechargeables in a remote control and leave the remote for 6 months, you will notice the battery has drained about 80% and ready for recharging. Also, rechargeables arent made to pack a whole lot of power, just enough to run things long enough. Sanyo has released a great set of batteries that pack a whopping 2700mAh, compared to the normal 1500-2000mAh on other rechargeables. Also their eniloop series are great for remote controls and stuff, they are made not to drain much like Alkalines for just sitting. Hope I helped.
  8. Also, rechargeable batteries lose their power capacity (dont charge as much, dont last as long) as they age. For instance, if you put rechargeables in your remote control and not use the remote for 6 months, those batteries continue to drain, unlike Alkalines. Plus, recheargeables aren't made to pack that power (most average 1500-2000mAh)..... but you can now purchase some SANYOs that pack a good 2700mAh. Give it a try guys.
  9. I really loved that feature. I wasn't aware the Colorado was missing that. Why, if more expensive and newer, would you not include those same great features along with the new stuff? I dont get it. Sucks for us. You think they can add that with new updates? That would be fantastic. I called Garmin today and they said you can use the software for two devices, meaning 2 unlocks. And so far, I just purchased my 400t and have put my 60cx to the side for the moment. I upgraded my unit with the newest patch and set to go. Ive only played with it around the house and must say that the learning curve is much to my advantage compared to when I first got my 60cx. They took away the more useless, redundant buttons and give you 2 soft keys and a marvelous Rock 'n Roller. I remember reading an early negative review of the roller being too bulky and to stiff on turns, but its just right, in my opinion. It works great with the thumb action and just stiff enough so you dont pass the option you're looking for nor will it turn when it's rubbing on something. So far I love the user friendly aspect of it and no shut downs as of yet. The Garmin tech told me to use more powerful batteries (2500mh+) to avoid the battery drain. Now, im looking forward to a good weekend hike or bike ride sometime in the near future. Bring on SPRING!!!
  10. Thanks, pal! oh, how do i update my firmware on my colorado? my webupdater just recognizes my 400t as a storage device (G:/). Thanks. Update: Ah, i guess the guy i bought it from had already updated the unit to 2.4.
  11. is it just me as a novice or is the 60cx a better buy than the Colorado? Seems that the 60csx/cx has more features. Is that the case?
  12. i just bought my 400t and its taking 20 seconds, literally. It loads the map and stuff in 20 and i think thats pretty quick, if you ask me. Hope the rest of yous get that patched. Also, im about to register and update my product.... where can I find the serial number on the Colorado? Im able to find it on my 60cx, but not this one. Also, when i attach my 400t to the pc it goes storage device on me. Help. Thanks!
  13. thanks for the reviews. i was about to purchase the 400t for about $400, but even at that low price, i think i will pass and keep my 60cx.
  14. sorry, but that GPS looks badass!!! It totally matches my hunting boots. yay! no, really.
  15. I need to enter coordinates and locate on my garmin 60cx. i dont know how to do it and the manual skips a step for us noobs. Press "find"/"waypoints"/press enter/ then it shows my waypoints.....but how do i enter a new one? Thanks. "I try to think but nothing happens" - Curly
  16. I saw them at several places today for around $ 20. Best Buy, CompUSA to to name a couple of places. I bought one recently at amazon.com for $ 20. That seems to be the going price at reasonably priced places. Did you try Amazon.Com I bought mine at FRY's for $14.99.
  17. Software version: 3.50 GPS SW Vrs: 3.00 All set here.
  18. I just got a TMobile Wing (pocket pc), how do you load all that juicy info into a smartphone? Im dying to know. It beats the hell out of printing pages. Thanks!!
  19. Ive noticed it too. I just started using my Garmin 60cx again and have it plugged directly to my car. I too have a 2GB ULTRA microSD card in mine. i only have topo maps, city navigator and 24k Topo of the southwest (All of CA, parts of NV and AZ) which doesnt take too much space on my card. I bought the Sandisk Ultra for faster speed, but lately ive noticed that my Garmin takes way too long to load and i miss my stops. I have more than half satellites locked in, so i know thats not the issue. I have updated my Garmin with those recently released. Anyone have any suggestions or know whats going on? Thanks!!
