  1. Not at all. That site is just one of the many video sites like YouTube. Like YouTube, they can't control what people upload. (Before arguing read that statement again.) Someone must have uploaded it. While the other link* was removed because of the personal opinion/misunderstanding of the mod it was not an "illegal" site as the mod claimed. The mod assumed it was without checking into it. It could be because of the way I stated it too. What they say goes and that's the guidelines. It's just a forum. You can find it if you Google "the paradox". *This was a previous thread months ago about an unrelated topic.
  2. I run adblock so I don't see any ads. You cannot download the video without an account but just click the red triangle to play. (I tried to download it to see what would happen and it also asks me to get an account.) XVID is the codec needed to decode the video. It's a standard video codec but I guess not everyone has it installed. I just love the last part. "It's just a game!" Yeah right!
  3. AFAIK there is no advertisement connected with it. I have not encountered any. Maybe try a proxy or a different browser. It sounds to me like you might have malware but I hope that's not it.
  4. Don't worry. No one watched that movie. I tried to watch it but gave up. I might go back to it. They went on a hike to find a cache and it was one of those caches with like miles and miles to hike along with overnight stays on the trail. They get there and it is filled with gruesome murder like pictures or something. One of the pictures has a waypoint on it further along the trail. They decided to go for it but then there were complaints that they would only get one smiley for this multi-cache. I didn't get any further than that. (I'd like to get SS's take on this. Where are you SS?! --> [NOT ])
  5. Maybe it was just a tall ladder. This is from a movie: G.P.S. (2007)
  6. While it may be few and far between I'm sure it is like this for some. We don't always get along with each other. Maybe not to the point of trying to run someone off the road... You never can tell though.
  7. I wouldn't watch this around kids due to a word or two. Is it just a game? FTF Race. Keep on caching!
  8. I mentioned that I had the wrong movie. (A Christmas Carol, not NBC) I'm not talking about ratings. I'm talking about "Disney" movies. I suppose it would be ok if Disney made a porn flick as long as it was rated appropriately, right? It's just not what it used to be. We did the Downtown Disney Wherigo cache but the cache itself isn't in Downtown Disney.
  9. Ooops. Sorry. I misspoke. Not NBC. It was "A Christmas Carol" that I was speaking of. I was thinking to two latest Disney movies were the Christmas Carol and Alice in Wonderland. Although a Christmas Carol was kind of like a Christmas nightmare. I thought Alice was an excellent movie. I really enjoyed it. But I would not let my 8 yo daughter see it as she would have nightmares. It used to be that you knew you could take your kids to see a Disney film and now you wonder if you can.
  10. Can anyone back this up? Might we not get a better quality product if it was made in the USA. Quite the opposite. It would cost twice as much and be half as good.
  11. Yep. Parental guidance to watch a Disney movie? Preposterous.
  12. Just give it time and it will work. Is there a chance that you blocked images from their server via FF?
  13. I wish they would do that with their movies. Their last two movies were not fit for small children. -Nightmare before Christmas -Alice in Wonderland. Before we left NBC because it was too scary I heard a kid crying and telling his mom that this is too scary. I felt sorry for him. Disney would never allow it unless they make money on it. I'm surprised that they didn't charge for the hand driers in the rest room. They will milk you for every dime you have. Been there, done that. I'm sure Walt would be ashamed.
  14. If we did it certainly wouldn't help to call them out. We have found that there is a lot of politics involved in caching.
  15. We have a .30 cal ammo can about 2' underwater. Inside it is a pelican box for backup. It is attached to a wire with a carabiner. The wire is attached to a concrete block to hold it underwater.
  16. You don't need to use any program. Copy/paste the GPX to the GPX folder in your Garmin. Done. If you want to you can use third party programs to manipulate the data. I use GSAK so I can tell the difference between cache sizes in the titles.
  17. My FIL has a Nuvi 750 that has been around for a while. He wants to update the maps and needs his cord fixed. I'm wondering what it would be to just replace the unit. Since this is a discontinued unit, what would be the comparable [Garmin] model? Thanks!
  18. I wonder how hard it would be to start your own database that would work with google maps. Someone should try it.
  19. What difference does it make? If finding the nano bothered you that much than stop searching for LPC's and the like. I do not understand this concept at all. What is the difference between cache 12, 200, 632, 1000, or 1001? Nothing except the order of your finds. My wife had a great idea about a milestone of ours.
  20. BADGES?! BADGES?! We don't need no stinking badges!!!! j/k Badges seem like a nice idea to give to someone but I'm leery of giving them to myself.
  21. This is really simple. An instructable seems like overkill. Take 2 plastic bottles.bottles. 1. Remove one cap. (Recycle the rest of the bottle.) 2. Take the other bottle and cut along the line as shown in the picture. Keep the top and recycle the rest. 3. Glue the lid onto the open bottle end. Use the adhesive of your choice per discussion here. We have one like this. I stuck a magnet on the inside and hid it about 9' up.
  22. Nice camo!! It must be. I can't even see the cache.
  23. My wife used to have a stun got I bought for her. It was a joke. Once I had two friends sit here and zap each other to see how long they could take it. It was irritating and that's about it. After a few seconds he couldn't stand it anymore. It was enough time to continue to attack the person though. Obviously it was a lower voltage unit. (I think it was 160,000 - 300,000 volts) Get at least a couple million volt unit. You want a unit that cracks when it goes off. Cracks so loud it demands your attention.
  24. What kind of interaction did you have in mind? Would if be gathering info, or having the Cache handed to the finder? This kind of Cache is known as a Gatekeeper Cache. I've seen them in Libraries, Tourism Offices, Visitor Centers...and businesses(grandfathered, the two I've heard of/found were inside Barber Shops I haven't really thought it through as I have yet to imagine a way to make it work. It would not be having the cache handed to the finder. (Isn't that how that elusive cache is in some tropical area, placed in '01?) We'd have to make it more exciting than that! That's great that you have seen them. I haven't heard of any around here. Maybe it could be in conjunction with a mystery-multi where you need to solve a murder to find the cache? Go around town and gather clues... My concern is that you have a place that is so big things get fumbled up. I do have an idea for two places that might work. Maybe it could be to get a verbal clue or just get an envelope. I'm not sure but I'm always glad to hear some ideas...
