  4. Thank you baloo&bd... for your help! - I removed the drivers for the Garmin on my PC and reload them.I did that several times. - I have two cables they works on another devices. - I have hard reset my GPSr and I lost all my traks and w.p.But even that did not help, - Always get the same message. "'device not found ".
  5. Another is that the driver may have been corrupted. Remove the drivers for the Garmin on your PC and reload them. I am not sitting at my PC, however if I remember correctly, after removing them you simply plug in and it will reload. Also, try hooking it to another computer or possibly a hard reset of your GPSr. I am still not sure it may be the cable. If you have another for another device, try it. I have three or four cables that while they work on one device will not work on another for some reason.
  6. Thank you GOT... for your help! I've tried all the usb port on the PC, I replaced the new cable ... My PC NOT DETECTED Garmin .... I've tried three ways, MapSource, WebUpdater and GoogleEarth ...... Always get the same message. "'device not found ". My 60CSx is more then 5 years old.
  7. This is not true. Mapsource can detect the 60CSx without having the GPSr in removable drive mode. Since the 60CSx can be connected with USB or serial, I assume you are using the USB cable and have it plugged into the correct port on the computer. But do run this test: connect the 60csx and PC together put the 60CSx into removable drive mode (Setup, Interface, USB mass storage) - the GPSr will display an icon that suggests it is in that mode and your computer should respond by setting up a drive (you can see it with Windows Explorer). If this does not work then there is a defect in either the USB port on the 60CSx, the port on the computer, the cable or one of the connectors on either end of the cable. If that is working fine, and you can copy files back and forth, then the problem is elsewhere. On rare occasions something has gotten Windows confused so the USB ports stops functioning and restarting Windows might help. I have also seen situations where a device was plugged into one of the USB ports that was causing the whole bus to not function right; so you might want to run tests with all other USB devices removed and the comptuer restarted to see if that clears up the problem. If this test indicates that your hardware is OK, then try the following. Take the 60CSx out of USB mass storage mode (press the power button) and in Windows go to Control Panel, Device Manager - there should be a line for "Garmin Devices" and under that your 60CSx should be represented. If this is not present then something is wrong with the driver. Uninstall it, make sure you have the most up-to-date version and reinstall it. The best way to check to see if Mapsource is able to see the GPSr is to try Transfer, Receive and watch the dialog that comes up. After two or three seconds it should show the GPSr as the connected device. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks Hynr for all possible implicit solution of my problem. I'll all processed and I'll communicate the results. I hope to solve the problem. Greetings, Robert
  8. Hi, My PC does not detect the connected Garmin GPS.- I use MapSource 6.16.3. GPS is turned on and connected via usb cable to the PC. When I connect my Garmin GPSmap 60csx /SW version 4.00/ to my laptop using Windows 7/64. I getting an error message 'device not found'. On Google Earth /6.2.2.6613/ my PC does not detect the connected Garmin GPS. I get the message 'could not find the device Garmin'. I installed new USB driver - page for the driver update: http://www8.garmin.com/support/downl...ils.jsp?id=591. I uploaded WebUpdater but My PC does not detect the connected. I have uninstalled the software and drivers on many occasions and reinstalled. I always get the same message 'device not found'. USB cable is OK. The Garmin device GPSmap 60csx worked OK on my old laptop which uses Windows XP sp3. Can anybody help! Robert
