We're anxiously waiting for the dies to be finished for this project.....it's so exciting!!! Our concept is based on a pocket watch design - Artwork has been approved by Groundspeak as it is a "geocoin" with a flip top case! The first samples are still several weeks out but we will post additional info as soon as we have it.

Yep. Sounds like a good idea. The only flip-top-pocket-watch-type coin I can think of off hand is the notebook computer coin that just came out. I'm sure someone would make it. Sounds neat. Can't wait to see it! Sounds like something we've been working on for several months now! We can't wait to release this one, it's going to be our best yet!!! Mrs. Cach-u-nut

Yes, a great big thank you to all those involved in setting up this fabulous event. Here are a couple of short video clips we took of the event and of the poker game.

Imagine that. me too. only i'm leaving Friday morning to drive there... Ditto, but from Chandler/Tempe. Ditto -- we've arrived at DHobby1's in Casa Grande AZ and will be heading out first thing in the morning to cache our way over to the event! We're staying at the Comfort Inn - weather is suppose to be awesome!!!!

Like Nero we wil be picking up our record coins at Geocoinfest and will be looking to make face to face trades while there. Once we get back home we will see how many coins we have left and then begin looking at other trade offers. A BIG THANKS to all of those involved in making this coin happen!

What is your route through UT? If your taking I-70 we could leave you something "special" to find on your way out!! Let us know, we'll be in that area this weekend!

WooHoo - The Cach-u-nuts are leaving in 9 days!!! We will be bringing our version 2 Rubicon coin for trading and our new Top 40 record coin available for trades as well as some misc "2005" coin trading material We will also have a NEW coin release available at The Caching Place vendor table - We're only bring 150 with us so you won't want to miss out!!!! Can't wait for the FUN!!

Whew.... that's a relief!!! I'm worried enough about playing never mind having to "memorize" anything!! We're so excited about this event, it's really going to be a lot of Fun!! I've changed my mind at least a dozen times on which coins to use for my 3 coin buy-in. I LOVE to gamble but normally I stick to the Black-Jack tables and have only played poker at home. Maybe beginners luck will kick in eh? We'll be arriving on Friday early afternoon...driving in from Phoenix with DHobby1 and Ro - do a bit of caching on the way! This is such a GREAT idea!! We LOVE it!!! The stamp is small and can travel right in our caching pack - For those who would rather not have their actual coin marked, they could attach a blank metal dogtag where each cacher who moves the coin could make their 'custom' mark on the tag! The Cachingplace has been thinking about doing a series for "Cache Hides" to add to the Milestone coins that we currently produce. There have been several folks ask about a series like this. As some of you know, we did a 100 Milestone Travel Bug coin - it was more of a trial coin that we introduced about a year ago, we've thought about doing more of these coins as well. If anyone has some design ideas, send them our way, we'll be happy to produce a series like this, and of course if we use your design, we'll be happy to give you FREE coins!!! or cold hard cache...$$ whichever works for you You can email me @ georgia@thecachingplace.com

Or is this the artwork/color scheme for the "B" side of the record? This is just an EXAMPLE I did to try and show the difference between using BN and Nickel metals! Problem is solved by ordering samples first sorry for any confusion

I don't know if this will help or hinder....but here is an rough example of the SL vs BN - IMO - it's not as much the grooves as the center text - after looking at my LP's....yes, I still have my LP's - most of them are black lettering with bright center labels..... Just a thought The Gun Metal is just a bit lighter than the BN -

When you look at an actual record you don't actually SEE the grooves either. I just dusted off one of my old LP's and I still think the Black Nickel would look awesome with the center colors done in imitation hard enamel. Granted, when using black nickel one must use the correct contrasting colors to enhance the use of the black metal.....so using "darker" label colors wouldn't work as well - but using bright colors would really make your center design POP!! Anyway....just my two cents as a purchaser as well as a vendor

We agree with Allie...we like the Imitation Hard enamel look Did I miss the post where price was discussed? Sounds like you've received a quote - or are you waiting to see exactly how many will be produced? Also, is it possible to work in the vendor's name on the common side of the coin so we have one more line of text to be "creative" with on our "personal" side??
