  1. RD3106 Found it, finally, and even the reference mark. Thanks for all the help and advice.
  2. Thanks for the replies and help! Yes, I found the distance and azmith in the box score on the original data sheet. The PID is RD3106. I now have a distance from two know points (RM 2 and the stone park building) so finding the benchmark should be relatively straightforward. I'l try to find RM 1 as well. RM 3 and 4 were either removed or have erroded off of the edge of the bluff. The current fence is about 3 feet west of RM 2. Wish me luck. DDDale
  3. I'm looking for a rather difficult benchmark - been there twice already. Seems to be buried at least 4" down. I've found one reference mark and managed to figure out the distance from the reference mark to the benchmark. I assume the arrow on the reference mark points EXACTLY to the benchmark? Anyone help me out on this? It would save me a lot if digging. Thanks

I've found one reference mark and managed to figure out the distance from the reference mark to the benchmark. I am uncertain if the arrow on the reference mark points generally or EXACTLY to the benchmark? Anyone know? It would save me a lot if digging.
  5. Thanks Cornix. That's the one. My icon screen is different. How do I find that one? Dale
  6. The icon is on the map, it's not one I can select. Check one out at 45 59.529 / 121 34.508 This is the one I tracked down in the middle of the woods. Two more together at 45 50.754 / 121 30.677. These are both near Mt. Adams in Washington State.
  7. The spacing in the "picture" didn't post so well. You'll have to use your imagination. Thanks.
  8. Hello all, I have a Magellan Meridian w/ mapsend topos downloaded. I occasionally see an icon on the map that looks like a two pronged crown or perhaps cat ears, with a square bottom. It's shows up as black and solid. Sometimes there are two or three of them together. I tracked one down and it was just in the middle of the woods - no develpment, no marker, no spring, no roads - just trees. THere doesn't appear to be any magical symmetry related to the coordinates either. Can anyone tell me what the icon means? see "picture" below and imagine it's solid. thanks x x xx xx xxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxx
