  1. As a "poop-picker-upper" dog owner, I admit that many people don't clean up after there 4-legged poop factories.

But I've also seen people complaining about the poop problem down here in Monterey, when what they are really looking at is Coyote poop.

Don't forget about the huge "Ky-yote" population in CA, and I haven't seen those guys pick up after themselves once!

    Anyhow, that's my 2cents!

  2. Camelbaks (or any other brand you like) are great for 2 main reasons

    1. The Hose sitting on your shoulder encourages proper hydration (easier than opening up a nalgene bottle or canteen)

    2. You can use the bladder as a pillow at night. (just make sure the mouth piece is not under it)

    My 2cents :(

  3. Thanks for the reply Senior T. I keep seeing the event cache notice up, and was wondering...what gives?

Yeah, we're a group! We've got a logo, have event caches and everything. I nominate you as the point of contact for the Jeep peeps.

It looks like the whole promotion thing starts on June 1st. If we've got some in hand by then (or whenever this summer), I'm down for a planting trip. We could even take my Jeep(tame wagoneer)!

As the CSUMB semester is almost over, and I've got no summer employment (at this time) I'm anticipating a little freetime to get my numbers moving again.

  4. So, we recently scored an FTF on a cache by JPP called "Lizard's Lair". In the cache description, one of the contents in the cache was an FTF unused travel bug dog tag set. I took it, and then left a pen for the log book, but didn't have anything else to trade for the FTF prize.

Is the FTF prize by definition a freebie, or do you still have to trade for it. When I set up our caches, I assume the FTF to be a freebie, but I usually only leave a sacajewa dollar, never anything over 5 bucks.

So was I right in taking the FTF prize and not trading for it, or do I need to go back and throw a tin of Altoids in there? :o

  5. Oh we're still going alright. Sometime this weekend, but it's all up to the big geek climber.

I planned on getting a picture at the top, but I'll take out my digi-cam and get pictures of the process as well. I'm sure it'll be a cake walk, besides what could go wrong... :o

  6. Touchstone,

That was a pretty darn quick FTF on "Hang'em high". Of course, you've got to be quick to beat the Plunketts!

And I'm pretty sure we live closer to that cache than you do. Put to shame. :o We'll go log a TTF tomorrow or maybe another FTF :D

  7. So say a Central Coast team wanted to be in a Monterey geocaching club on the peninsula. What would that aforementioned team have to do to get an invite? :(

Does anyone know? Maybe we'll find out at the Picnic :o

  8. Thanks Touchstone! :D

I was starting to wonder why I was spending so much time on such a little, log-only cache. But I thought it came out well too.

We saw that little rotted stump, and just had to hide something there. Thanks for searching for it!

As soon as we get some time we're going to 'crack' YEGG! <_<

  9. Yale's Yegg Box kicked our butt today! Of course, now that I'm down from the hills and dry, I know exactly where the tools are!!

Isn't it great when that happens :)

Touchstone, I guess you weren't joking w/ that difficultly level SHEESH

  10. How 'bout "Ring of Fire'" for a name? I know, I know I'm going a lil' crazy w/ the Johnny Cash thing, but "Fire" tacks...c'mon. <_<

As far as high tree content w/ minimum P.O., I'd look for a Eucalyptus grove. Hardly anything grows under them. There acorn buttons, and leaves are toxic to most local flora.

There's a bunch of "Eukes" on the rec trail near NPS, but I doubt that's secluded enough.

    Just some thoughts <_<

CBN > You must do "Johnny Cache"
